Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler what can I say been there time and time again fantstic cant beat it
Plenty to do lots of bars = fun bars and also nice select bars for quiet evenings.
Good shopping = great bazaar on wednesdays
Fantastic walks
wonderful boat trips
Also Marmaris just on the bus for 15 mintes for more hectic entertainment al in all marvellous Icmeler

Great resort, been 7 times including my honeymoon. Place is full of bars and clubs. Also beautiful canals lit up at night for a romantic stroll...turkish men love the banter when u shop and they are very entertaining in the restaurants and bars. Alot of pestering in the shops and outside restaurants tryin to get u in but u soon get used to it and just say no thanks...they soon get the picture. Very good place, great for singles, couples, families. Lots to do. Weather very hot in summer, we went in May and the weather was abit cloudy but had a great time would visit again for a 8th time. Great day outs on the boats, or even the beach we went parasailing was great fun, and on jet ski's/rubber rings. Definately recommend the resort.

We visited right at the beginning of the season, quite a few of the bars and shops where in the middle of pre season preparations for re opening, it is difficult to comment on what it would be like when everything is in full swing but we will consider returning in later season,. we would avoid July & august as for us it would be to crowded. The beach looks nice and clean although we are not beach people the re looks to be plenty of room
On a down note there are far to many Jewellers shops offering you "Information" I cpouls see them being a nuisance and spoiling your holiday.

I expect most know what Icmeler is like in season, but in April most shops and restaurants were getting thing ready for May time. Some were open, so there was plenty to see and do.
The beach had piles of new sand waiting to be spread about. The central pier is no more, which surprised me.
April was a good time to visit for us. The weather was hot - except for one rainy day - but nice for walking. We visited the old village - which we hadn't done before - and found it really nice.
I think we will visit Icmeler again, we like the small-town feel of it. All in all, a very good holiday.

Icmeler must be the cleanest resort i have been to.The people are the friendliest you will ever meet,there is plenty of entertainment in the resort,there is something for everyone in Icmeler it's perfect.

We stayed in Marmaris. Had I known before we left that it was like the really cheap and nasty parts of Spain, the bit where all the expats go and open Red Lion pubs etc. I wouldn't have bothered going. The resort is a sea of English pubs, English resturants and English shops run by locals selling mostly knocked off or fake designer clothing. The locals go as far as to chase you down streets to try and get you to buy things from them or to go to their resturants, when you say no some got really intimidating, I found that the best way to get around them was to speak in German or sometimer French, or pretend to be Welsh, this sometimes throws them a bit and gives you time to escape. Looking at some of the Hotels in Marmaris I think we got the best one, some look like absolute dives. One had green water and litter in the pool. The beaches don't looke much better, it seems that during the winter the beaches are left to build up rubbish and we watched people rake this into the sand when they were preparing the beaches for the summer. The place is full of stray animals and the locals take no care of them. Anyone traveling with young females may want to take note that from the minute they set foot in the resort they will be hassled, and parents/boyfriends will be offered money and goods to take marry them. Apart from that it was brilliant, oh, and there was an earthquake one night.

As we went at easter a lot was closed, we noticed in the second week it getting busier plenty of trips around and hire places ooohhhhh and dont forget the turkish baths and for the fellas a turkish shave my hubby had one and loved it.....

Icmeler is very nice clean can be very noise but all that stops at midnight, the area is very green and lush and well worth a visit.
