Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

The beach is very clean and safe and they have lifeguards on duty. Entertain is good from discos to cabaret.
The resort is also clean and I would go to this resort again.

The resort is very clean the sand on the beach is a very small shingle like stone dust the sun beds are very cheap to hire.
The people all over the resort are very friendly and helpful.The market is a must on a Wednesday but be prepared to haggle otherwise you will find it expensive it is a good experience just to walk around and listen to the sayings the come out with.
The resort is not to big and commecialised like Marmaris.
Would go back tomorrow if I could.

Quiet resort but Marmaris is nearby. Plenty of restaurants and bars who turn the music down at 12am. To be completely honest I prefer Olu Deniz as it is much friendlier and we will go back there in June instead of Icmeler. The resort was visited by 95% older people (50 / 60). Pretty but not for us.

This was our first visit to Icmeler and Turkey and we really fell in love with it, we have been home a week and have booked already for next year. It is the ideal holiday resort, the scenery is beautiful, the people are so friendly, and all the restaurants we ate in had lovely food and excellent service (especially Love Boat) and so cheap!!. The area along the canal is very picturesque with restaurants, bars and small shops along both sides. The beach is shingle, but nice and clean.
Go to the market on Wednesday, it's an experience. Our first attempt at haggling, and we came away with some bargains. Make sure you have plenty of £10 notes, they love them!! The little shops along the canal are also good value.
All the bars and restaurants turn the music down at midnight which we thought was good, you could stay later and have a quiet drink. Some have entertainment from 10pm, but all finish at 12. We went into the Wonderboys bar a couple of times, they had Elvis, Robbie, Blues Bros shows, all good fun.

Icmeler itself is a lovely resort, only 2 minute walk away...lots of bars and restaurants and the people there are nothing but friendly.
This is a place I would definitely revisit.

We found the resort to be very clean and one thing that we did notice is that considering how much the Turkish love dogs and that therre's plenty of dogs and cats roaming the streets you don't see any dog or cat mess in the streets.
The only time the streets looked a bit the worse for wear is on Wednesday morning after Tuesday nights mega storm.
Absolutely brilliant sight to watch but boy what a mess in the morning. Quite funny really. The uk gets 30 minutes of snow and the country grinds to a halt, Turkey has a mega storm and they're open for business the next morning.
This storm as I say was rather long about 7pm Tues till around 3am wed. The beach was all churned up, the staff in the hotel battoned down the hatches and did everything they could to be attentive to guests whilst trying to ensure that the equipment outside was tethered.
The beach as I say suffered a bit during the storm but other than that there was no problem at all. The sea was lovely and clear and again after all the sea bed got churned up for two days you could've mistaken the sea for southend otherwise all okay.
Don't be put off by bad reports, any holiday is what you make it, we were a bit worried before our visit especially as we were on a tight budget but we didn't feel restricted in any way at all.
Having said that we're the sort of people who are happy as long as there's not a dead body in the room but in all honesty you'd have to be a serial complainer to find fault with this place.

The resort of Icmeler is beautiful. The scenery is breathtaking. Take advantage of using the water taxi`s to Marmaris to take in all the scenery. Some of the restaurants hassle quite a bit, but the side streets have some quiet relaxing restaurants if you find it too much. Everyone is friendly, just keep a close eye on your teenage daughters if you go to the Wednesday market!!!!!

Icmeler was an excellent holiday destination, especially for those who like to party in a family atmosphere.
The cleanliness, honesty and friendliness of the people is a definite bonus that it's tourist industry should be proud of.
I would make a point of never going AI or half board as the standard and prices of food are excellent and there are so many restaurants to choose from.

Its 12 years since we last stayed in Icmeler and has grown radidly since we were last there. There are numerous bars and resturants and all seem good quality and value for money.
The beach is very pleasant and sunbeds are only 2.5TL per day.Wednesday is market day and is good to visit especially since Marmaris now only has a small indoor market.
The old village is a nice quiet place and the scenery around there is stunning.
