We stayed in Overcik but spent our evenings in Hisaranou which was lively and fun to be in. Full of pubs, resturants and shops. Not to noisy or packed full of drunken yobs. Although everyone had a good time.
There was no beach here, but we used to go to a private beach in Olu Deniz (St Joseph) opposite the Blue Lagoon which was very nice and not to crowded. Nice restaurant. We visited the Blue Lagoon and having paid to get on it were disappointed to find the beach was all shingle and you could'nt walk on it without shoes. Getting in and out of the water was an experience for all. The water was not that clean. We were very disappointed having seen loads of pictures publishing it. (Very deceiving).

The resort was a very traditional area and really give you the feel of peace. It still had all of its traditional houses and barns. Bar street was very lively and there was a good selection of places to go whether it be a resaraunt, a coctail bar or a nightclub. All of bar street is buzzing with excitement. Olu deniz beach was beautiful, the sands were pure white and the blue lagoon was fabulous. There was lots to do there from pedalows to snorkling, where you would see the most beautiful scenes of you life. Overall the resort was a fantastic place and I am going back next year, I cant wait

olu deniz is a spectacular part of the turkish coastline and allthough i prefer to stay in a hotel higher up in the mountains where its a bit cooler we visit olu deniz regularly during our stay. there are lots of good restaurants many with rooftop terraces whre you can sit and watch the sunsets and also watch the paracenders coming down from babadag mountain they hold the world championships at this resort and its something to see i can tell you.i have been visiting this resort for the last 14 years and watched it grow from practically nothing to a bustling place i just hope they dont get too carried away and spoil it.

The resort was absolutly beautiful, there are many bars, restaurants and the people are very friendly.
The beach was about a half an hour walk from our hotel it's worth the walk for all of the scenery, the beach itself was beautiful.
Excellent place going back September.

Resort cleanliness: Excellent, there was little or no rubbish around.
Resort entertainment: Not much in Ovacik itself. However, it is only a few minutes from Hisaronu (exact distance depends on which end of Ovacik you stay in) which has a lot of bars, clubs, etc. Also a short dolmus or taxi ride from Olu Deniz which has many bars and clubs as well.
Beach standard: There is no beach in Ovacik or Hisaronu. However, it is only 5-10 minutes on dolmus to Olu Deniz, which has two beaches - a free one and a pay one. The free one has sand mixed with pebbles. There are many sunbeds which you can rent for a small amount of money, or you can just put your towel down on the sand. The sea is nice for swimming in, but be aware that it drops off sharply and gets deep quite quickly. We didn't go on the pay beach at Olu Deniz lagoon, but it is very famous and beautiful.
Would you visit again: Definitely. Hisaronu is a bit of a nightmare - or paradise, depending on what you want from your holiday. All neon, everything in English, loud music all night. On the other hand, Ovacik is much more peaceful and in a beautiful mountain location. Olu Deniz is beautiful, and Fethiye is fascinating. There are many wonderful sights to see a bit further afield, such as Tlos, Xanthos, Patara, and Gocek, and many excellent excursions, especially the boat trip. We even went paragliding onto Olu Deniz beach! The Turkish people were very friendly and really appreciated any effort to speak Turkish. We had a wonderful holiday, 7 days was much too short.

Although we were staying in Ovacik, we spent most evenings in Hisonaru.
Excellent choice of restaurants. Especially recommend Beach Boy, who put on a great night for my husband's 4oth birthday. Would definitely visit this area again

The Hotel is situated in Ovacik which is a nice quiet area with fantastic views of the mountains.
The resort of Olu Deniz is only a short Dolmus ride from the Hotel approx 10 mins, it has a beautiful beach and the sea is crystal clear.
Hisaranu is also a short 10 min journey from the hotel, where you will find a large amount of Shops and Restaurants and a Market held on a Monday.
The town of Fethiye also not far from the Hotel has a very large Market twice a week.
Dont forget to barter when visiting the markets, (its expected and good fun!)

Hisaronu is about a ten minute easy walk from our hotel, you could get the Dolmus as they are extremely frequent and cost one million to the town centre.
The Dolmus to Fethiye and Olu deniz cost two million and took around fifteen mins.
There was a market every Monday in Hisaronu and Tuesday in Fethiye. The Tuesday market is the biggest and is very busy so be sure to take water with you it was swealtering!!!!
My teenage daughter loved Hisaronu for the nightlife loads of bars, be sure to give Time Out a try if you love Karaoke
On the whole we had a fabulous time, met loads of lovely people and can't wait for next year!!
