Yes i think it was a good deal, its a shame you cant compare it! We're going to the right place then to get our bargains
We probably will see you out there then! cant wait, seems like a lifetime away at mo! x
Saz where is your apartment we are going to the esra apartments.
Hi marion, do you know what? i dont actually know the name of the resort! but if it helps its on 'aquavista rentals' reference AR151 its about 10mins walk from the main beach/bars/restaurants etc? it looks lovely, and we cant wait! i feel like a child at the mo! hehe seems such a lifetime away! x
Just wondered if anyone could give me any advice on the waterparks in altinkum at all? I know there are 2, but would anyone know of any prices etc? Cant seem to find that anywhere! Its just nice to know really, when working on a bit of a budget anyway
Any useful info on places to visit, restaurants, bars, trips etc would be great, there will be 4 adults and 2 kids, 9 and 12. 1st hol in 3 years and i cant wait!
have been to turkey before but never been to altinkum, always wary trying a new place! Hope the weather will be ok, leaving on 3rd sep, fingers crossed!! x
We are off next week our 6th time to Altinkum, Haven't been for 4 years tho.
There is only one water park in Altinkum http://www.didimaquapark.com/go_didim.html
I do recommend the boat trips from the harbour excellent value for money. The water park costs around £12 to get in.
Loads of bars and restaraunts .
Simon
When you get in they will search your bags and there are lockers just inside to keep your belonings. You need to get a card just inside the gate and put some money on it to spend when inside. I can`t really remember how much things were to buy but, it is a little more expensive than in the main resort. We had a few good days there and even the teenagers did not complain which makes a change.
Whatever you do enjoy altinkum, we have been so many times but, still cant wait to get there in september. The weather has always been nice when we are there both may and september so, fingers crossed for this time. Jacqui
Must admit i have only ever heard good reviews about altinkum, it does sound really lovely....
Jacqui, when in september are you going? we're off on the 3rd, still seems ages away tho! x
Got text from friend who lives there last night and its lovely there just rubbing it in with our bad weather I think.
Altinkum has something for all age groups and is a lovely place we have been 12 times now and still not sick of it. We have been all over turkey but, keep going back to this resort. Take a look on goldtrail or freedom direct for flights they had some good prices from newcastle when we were looking a couple of days ago. Sometimes we have left it quite late for flights out of newcastle and the price has gone up so if I see a price I am happy with I just book it. Jacqui
Is it still as cheap over there as it used to be? I havent been for 3 years! now thats a lifetime! My son is really excited now aswell, his takin his friend with him this time, must be mad but they can keep each other amused.
We did book our flights in the end, going with excel, wasnt bad really, leaving at half 2 in the afternoon on 3rd sep x
Prices ahve gone up a little over recent years but, its still cheaper than many other places. Eating out is ok as you can go to one of the many takeaways with the kids if they relly dont want to sit in restaurants. There is a new fast food place at the top of dolphin square which is nice and very cheap. Cant wait to go back myself. Jacqui
Thanks for your advice and comments on it all jacqui, really appreciated...wish we were going today tho...still counting down! x
Anymore info between now and beginning of september on anything to do with altinkum, water parks, trips, prices, restaurants/bars etc would be greatly appreciated!
Bye for now x
Although i have been to turkey before, i have never been to altinkum. When on holiday i like to do a lot of touring about.Could anyone advise me who are the best companies to use for day trips. I am staying at the Kusmez hotel and any info on this place also would be appreciated. Thanx
Just returned from Altinkum, stayed at Kusmez Hotel(Report to follow). We salute the local people of this resort for helping us to have such a brilliant time. Restaurants used were:- Alo 24, Didim Sehir Lokantasi, Ucansu(All proper Turkish where local people go), Kusmez Hotel(3 times), Crystal(twice), Swan Lake, Four Seasons, Asia Minor, International Garden of Spice(most expensive), Damla(the only restaurant not to provide nibbles while awaiting meal and to not offer a complimentary drink to say,"thank you for your custom." These observations were pointed out to the Management at the time) and Ephesus(The best selection of Menu). All these restaurants provided us with excellent food. On the Jewellery front we used Mermaid. Because the Banks are a Dolmus ride out of town, we used ATA Jewellery for money exchange. Great holiday, looking forward to the next time.
can anybody tell me anything about altinkum its the first time in altinkum were to eat the best restuarants and the karaoke bars etc so please tell me those that have been and are going this summer, p s anybody stopped at the tuntas hotel ,
Some times cheap than other holiday places. AltÃâ€ΕΎÃ‚±nkum means Golden beach. There are many historical places in there.
check this http://www.altinkum.co.uk/
If you want to go to the Temple of Apollo then get yourself to Ataturk Boulevard and get a Dolmus, it only cost 1.25 YTL per person. This was our first time to Altinkum and we are already considering a return in September.
hi cruisecontroller thanks for the reply as were to go in altinkum, do you know were the tuntas hotel is in altinkum, tony
I am off to Altinkum in 2 weeks time ..have never been to Turkey before, am staying in a private apartment in Didim , does anyone know anything about this area thanks
Mabs, if you also go and look at Altinkum Discussion and questions, this will answer some of your questions. Didim is a five minute Dolmus ride from Altinkum Centre.
