As I mentioned earlier, if you have a few peoples to get done, then ring them up as they "will" give you discounts ;)
Better in your pocket even if only £2.50 saving per person, as ours worked out at £37.50 each :D

Just had e-mail back from London HCI, and they say it is ok to use London app forms for anyone using Huddersfield surgery.

Hi, Queued and then got refused at the Birmingham HCI last week only issuing 50 visas per day.

I met an agent from 4ward travel who for £10 each passport gave me a 5 day turnround if you wish a contact number pls let me know. Steve. Off to Goa on the 11th October

Right! Been going to Goa for the last 10 years, queueing at Birmingham for the visa. Decided not to do that this year, in case of refusal. So which agent would be the best? :hmmm

Hi Fiona how did your husband get on in Edinburgh when he went for the Visas? We will need to go soon as well, although this year we are considering returning to the Visa Surgery in Glasgow on Saturday 27 October, but its pretty :bhead :yikes :omg :bawl    if you get my drift :D

he arrived just before 8.30 and was second there. It was quite straightforward. He just had to hang around Edinburgh till 4pm when he could pick up the visas. He spent it looking round the Royal yacht Brittania :D

Well I'm not looking forward to the day the HCI says you can no longer apply in person.

That will come soon once they secure the outsourcing contract with a reliable agent.

The outsourcing of Indian visas came in to force in the USA today (01/10/07). The agent 'Travisa Inc' will handle collection and delivery of all visa applications on behalf of the Indian Embassy New York and the other 4 US Indian Consulates.

Sorry if this has already been asked ( first time in goa) how do you pay for your visa when going to the london consulate can you pay cash? i have down loaded the form so i am ok with that. Thankyou for your help.

Hi green.eyed.lady,

If you go to London in person you may pay by cash, Bankers Draft or Postal Order. Do NOT try and pay by personal cheque, debit or credit card.

Get there early in the morning and remain patient. If you are getting more than 1 visa you must get a queue ticket for each application.

Fill the form out as it states and following all of the instructions or they will not entertain the application.

Now for the good bit.....Enjoy your trip to Goa!

Just heard back from my MP who enclosed a copy of a letter - the response from our Minister for Asia it says
'As you will appreciate, it is for the Indian High Commission to determine how it will accept visa applications. My officials have however contacted the visa section of the High Commission about this issue. The Indian High Commission suggested that your constituents contact Mr Rajesh Mishra, the first secretary (visas) Mr Mishra's direct number is 020 7632 3023'
The Rt Hon Lord Malloch Brown
Hope this information may be of use to anyone experiencing difficulties. It will be interesting to see how long the telephone number stays connected!!
cheers
