Oh StevieH I think its such a shame to block the sound of the waves out. That's the reason I love to stay on the beach. I love lying in bed listending to the waves. I have to say there isn't much that keeps me awake though. I am one of those people who can sleep all the way over on the plane.
right thinking of going here. Madhu cocohuts in agonda what is there for us to do during the day. And would you recommend staying 1 or 2 nights. thanks
Personally I would go for two nights because once we get there we don't want to leave.
It is so peaceful, quiet and chilled out that all the problems and hassles in life just seem to disappear.
Enjoy

I stayed one night at the huts on Mandrem. Don't think it was Dunes but can't remember the name of the place. Huts were lovely. Right on the beach, all with a verandah and really nice and clean inside. Nice bar and restaurant too which was quite cheap. The huts looked out over the sand and it was beautiful. I will definitely stay there again next time but probably for 2 nights.
Yes Colleen I will. It was a Goan friend who sorted it out for us and that's why I didn't know the name but they were really nice and clean with ceiling fans etc. and the restaurant was in a really lovely setting. I think they were pretty cheap too (and it was over the Xmas period) though he may have got us the "local rate". I will ring him in the next couple of days and find out what they were called. We didn't even have to pre book we just went up to Mandrem and loved it that much decided to stay.
Colleen. It was the Riva resorts at Mandrem. They have a website http://www.rivaresorts.com. They have different types of huts to choose from and prices vary deoending on type. There is no tariff published but our friend got us a really nice hut right on the beach for less than a fiver. As I said we didn't pre book. We just went to the beach and decided to stay. It was really easy to sort it. There was a little office with a reception and within 10 minutes we had a choice of hut and a key. The rooms were really nice and the setting right on the lovely beach. I'm off back there in Feb so I could check some prices.
