Bought snorkels from local shop for a tenner each,but face mask leaked so bought some more from hotel shop which were spot on.Still say food is repetative,try the "foul" brown beans,it may still be the same pot we had.I may be a fussy so and so when it comes to food,but compared to Turkey,Tunisia,Dom Rep etc the food is 2nd rate.would have preffered a few more restraunts close at hand naama bay is good but you do get hasstle from the shops.Hard rock cafe is good for food and entertainment,and terrific fish restraunts everywhere.Once again its not a bad hotel,but overall its still only a 3*.

Like Debs the holiday is not that expensive, a friend of mine has paid £600 for 2 weeks self-catering in Cyprus. Not need to say who got the best deal, she is well envious.

Hi Debs, it depends which end of the beach you sit on. If it is near the fish bar on the beach it will probably be your hotel room as these are right on the beach. But if it is near the hotel or in front of it. There is another clean toilet at the bottom of the steps by the poolside bar that can be reached by the beach. Not air con. and only paper towels.

Hi all , We have only 4 weeks to go now and looking forward to it Can someone please tell me the name of the medicine we have to ask for if immodium dosent work and is it suitable for children. Do you think its worhwhile taking some Diarolate sachets with us. Yvonney what time is your flight from gatwick, ours is at 12 lunchtime.

when we went to egypt in december my son and i both got slightly bad tummys so we bought some diax from one of the local chemists in naama bay and it seemed to do the trick
most of the shop owners we spoke to and the chemists spoke very good english and were very helpful - the leaflet inside the box of diax was also in english which helped!! and yes immodium doesnt work out there i think it just keeps the bugs in !!

is it right that we will have to sign for every drink we have on the AI even water, and would you happen to remember what the exchange rate was at the hotel when you were there,wondering if it is better to change some money here of do it over there

Hi,
we where asked our room number for all drinks but didn't sign for them but i think we should have done. I don't know the exchange rate i changed mine here. Didn't spend much about £40 for 1 wk. Best thing is to take some of each currency. The hotel accepts euros. Room service was good by the way.

I noticed that a lot of people are saying that it's cheaper to book through Eclipse than First Choice .
First Direct is more expensive if you book through the travel agent, but for the dates I want to go next year (may 15th) 2 weeks with First Choice did work out to be cheaper (only £6 per person - but still cheaper)
First Choice website said I was saving almost £200 on brochure price for the whole booking whereas on Eclipse website I was only saving £20 on their brochure price.
I don't know if that helps anyone

When I booked my holiday in May of last year, Eclipse Direct were much cheaper than First Choice (sister company), but it seems this year FC are cheaper for many holidays.

yipee my tickets arrived in the post this morning
along with a letter about the building work.It says all work will be completed by November although that is approximately. Who cares anyway as long as the sun shines the waiters deliver the cocktails and my husband does as hes told im happy

I can't remember how far in advance FC mail the tickets.
I'm not worried about the building work either, although it has been a nuisance for some members who have stayed there, enough people have said they weren't bothered for me not to worry
If it's noisy near the pool area I'll just keep my mp3 player turned on while I'm sunbathing

Anyway ive looked and looked again at the wee booklet you get and the wee case labels and im sooo excited youll probably get yours in 2 weeks Pippy. Only told my husband about the building work today but he quickly forgot when i said we can get 24hours room service which means burger and chips at 3 in the morning after a few beers without leaving the hotel hes so easily pleased when it comes to food.Having said that is it 24 hours has anyone ordered room service through the night??
Right so im now on the sleeps countdown and its 18 for me .

A question for those who've already stayed at the conrad, is it acceptable for men to wear jeans in the buffet restaurant in the evening?

Not any kind of dress code at all,tee shirts,denims,shorts all ok.Actually saw some peeps in swim wear and nothing was said,so no worries
