:D Pippy, They will be able to get 6 in a taxi we were a party of 8 and had no trouble getting a taxi big enough. The taxis are at the bottom of a small road in front of the hotel. You can ask at reception for one. We had no trouble getting the coach to the airport and was the first there as the hotel is only about 10 mins from the airport and had no pickups to make. Hope this helps :D

Sorry to butt in here, i am off in 8 days can't wait, seems a long time since it ewas booked last May , am i reading this right are you thinking of getting a taxi from the airport out to the Conrad to save all the waiting at the airport, we are 2 families ,6 in total and that sounds like a good idea to me, i know it is not far but by the time everyone has got to the coach that can be another hour on your journey and we all just want to start our holiday, i have booked with Eclipse and i have had a letter about some building work, they don't say where or how much but i'm not worried to late now anyway, i have been reading all the forums and it doesn't look like it will be a problem, no-one has had any big problems with it, so sun sea and sand here we come , enjoy your holiday

Hi Ann :D

You're not butting in, this is for all of us! Actually, it's the return journey we're thinking of doing by taxi due to the reports of total chaos in the departure area :? But we might consider also travelling to the hotel by taxi.

Enjoy your holiday too Ann!

 Hi you lucky travellers,
The coach journey from the air port took 15mins and we were first drop off at the Conrad so that was sound.
Most people took up the offer of pre bookable return seating on the plane,so although the coach was packed there wasn,t rearly a problem.
The airports a dog hole any way so whats the rush.Taxis cost a tenner to naama bay so it should be about the same to the airport, order taxis from the desk just inside the hotel,we did wait an hour one night for a taxi, and ended up in a blue and white, they are a bit dodgy, agree a fee before you get in.

Hi Pippy
Now that does make a lot of sence as we will be the last or first pick up going home and then there is a coach load of people waiting to get rid of there bags so we will didcuss it i think when we get there, as it is only 10-15 mins from the airport and we will be one of the first drops i think we can manage that, when do you go, i am counting my working days as is one very tired hubby, only 4 more for me 6 for him, oh the life of a part time worker

Hi all, the bus back frm the conrad was tiny and they threw your cases through the back window. Get a taxi..it will still be chaos but you will have time to find your check in and keep your cool.

Hi All

The only good thing is as were last on the bus our cases will be first off therefor you can scoot through before everyone else.

Debs, if you take the organized bus you will be scooting nowhere quick. You would be better taking taxi.

Hi Victor

Would you recommend a taxi transfer both ways? Would we be able to check in at the hotel with no problems if we arrive under our own steam?

Hi Victor

I know what your saying but if we go earlier we may miss large queues but you have to spend more time in the dreaded airport so i think well just spend the extra time in the hotel , i suppose the queueing will take more time off the wait in the airport sometimes weve had long queues before but you basically get through with little time left before you board not really sure after reading about this airport which is the better idea really. :hmmm

Cheers anyway well decide when we 're ready to come home and how were feeling about taxi or bus.

We found the airport not really that bad Yes there are queues and a bit unorganised but seeing as most of the British flights depart on the same day it's to be expected. There are a few shops to browse through and things are ALOT cheaper there then anywhere else. There's a nice pizza place there (SBarro) to get something to eat - just as nice as the branch we had used on an earlier trip to New York. One thing to note is to take some toilet roll or tissue as there was none in the cubicles.

We had paid at the hotel for pre booked seats but our party of six were all seperated by aisle's and spread out over 20 rows! Others who hadn't pre booked and arrived at the airport after us were seated together. We found that the people who had pre booked were used to fill up the single seats in the rows. We managed to get a refund but only because we had kept the reps receipt for the payment and our boarding cards.

The main problem we found at the hotel waiting to depart was that because people had decided to take taxi's they had not informed the reps and so we were waiting around while they tried to find them onsite. If you do decide to take a taxi have consideration for others on the coach and inform the reps!

Hi Pippy, anyone will tell you that both coming and going are a nightmare. You arrive after a long day and its really hot, it does not cool down much. You have to find your coach and its an ordeal. Especially if you have lots of luggage. The kerbs are huge. We only took one heavy case!!!!!The coach added an hour to our journey. The reps are really not on the ball. You could book in before the main rush. Its the first holiday that l did not taxi back and forth. Bad mistake. But agree price before you start. They all talk english.

Thanks Victor

You've made my mind up for me, taxis both ways I think (unless we're all to scared to speak to the drivers, only been to Spanish destinations before   ).

As I've never done this before, what will we need to do once we arrive at the hotel? Show our tickets, invoice and passports? I know it's been said most of the hotel staff speak/understand English, just don't want there to be any confusion as to who we are and what rooms we've been allocated (we want our superior rooms! :D ).

If we definitely decide on the taxi option, we won't forget to let the reps at the airport know to cancel our transfers.

Hi Philippa, you will arrive well ahead of about 100 150 others. The staff book you in in a similar way to the spanish. Your party is on a list and the room you selected in pre-booked. They speak better english than most of us. Word of advice --If you dont like your room ask for change asap. dont wait. Dont forget the ramps and steps. Not well illuminated. So dont arrive pissed.

Thanks for all the tips Victor, you've been a great help, much appreciated.

So dont arrive drunk.

As if  :D :D
