We are going to Delphin Palace next July, taking 4 kids, 2 ,15 year old boys and 2 girls 6 & 9. The reviews are all brilliant, but can anybody tell me if the funfair is open at any other times, or is it just for two hours at night ? Also, is the sea (beach) safe for kids ie: too choppy, lots of stones, big drop ? Lastly, is the sea warm ?
Thanks
Tina

funfair only open at night but it is worth the wait.Sea very safe, quite shallow for about 10 metres out but gets a bit choppy late afternoon (dont go kayaking then). We tried to book again for next year but t cook want extra £500 Superb hotel, you can't fail to enjoy it
well see you there then, we too are going july 08, arriving on 8th july for 2 weeks.
went to the titanic this year and beach is great, sea lovely and warm.
our girls are 12 and 8 and it was our best holiday ever.
I asked if anyone had heard of a show called the Talk of the Town a few days ago, since then have found the brochure it was in which is Thompson turkey destination, page 81 Mediterranean Coast, it comes under "highlights" and it says "A hilarious evening full of glitz and glamour as the Playgiirls with their frocks feathers spangles and bangles put on a show for you. It spans the last 30 years everything from Abba to Madonna" BUT it doesnt say where it is, any ideas anyone?
Thanks for all your replys. Sallington, you will be there a few days before us, we fly out from East Midlands with Thomas Cook on Sun 13th July ! We have been to Turkey a few years ago staying at Club Letoonia in Fethiye, the surroundings were stunning, is it the same around Lara Beach ?
no looking at club letoonia and having spoke to someone at our hotel that had stayed there before then you will find outside the hotel there is nothing, but believe me that with everything that the hotel will have, then it wont be a problem.
at the titanic, apart from a couple of trips ( which i think going a/i you like to get out and about even if its for 1 day ) then its not needed to go out side your hotel.
the lady we spoke to said club letoonia was good and they loved it there, but when i asked her to compare she said they were different.
that doesnt mean any were vnot as good ,just different!!!!!!
hope this helps.....and hey,at least we no we wont be the only english ones, especially as our kids are of similar age
We found the letoonia rooms basic but clean but in the heat the steps were a killer and the beaches were small and crowded. Your kids will love the slides and the amusement park and you will not have to worry about them being kept amused with the bowling alley and games room ( all chargeable ) is great and even has a bar in there and the cinema is next door. We only have one son but keeping an eye on him at the letoonia proved a task because it is so sprawling.
The room service from midnight is great, they have a small menu to choose from and beer wine and soft drinks and hot ones. You can get ice cream for most of the day and the food is superb. There is even a man who tours the pool with a trolley with soft drinks, bottled beer , water and wine etc
We found that getting a decent drink at the letoonia proved difficult has they hid all the decent branded ones and at the delphin you have a great choice in the lobby bar.
Regards violet

Read your review, sounds like you had a fab time!
we are off on 14/9 for 2 weeks, can't wait! Did you use the a la carte's at all? just wondered if you had any probs booking them.?
And was the evening shows ok? s
read somewhere they weren't very good!
Thanks
Emma
We enjoyed the evening entertaiment while we was there. However the Duo in the lobby bar is something to be missed however the lobby bar is a nice area to sit and relax with a drink or 2 or maybe even 3 . But it is a great hotel it has the WOW factor.
Totally agree with you the hotel is top class. Cleanliness, friendliness, food, facilities all 5 star.
Only downside to our holiday were the flight delays with Thomas Cook.
nearly 5 hour delay going out from Birmingham and 2 hour delay coming back. No announcements at Birmingham, no apologies and no food vouchers only a free drink on the flight.
Still when we got there it was well worth it.
it is a great hotel and will be going back mid august 2009 for 2 weeks this time one week isnt enough there
Did you watch any shows in the amphitheatre. If you saw one where members of the audience joined and there was a doctor, undertaker, baby, etc. my son was the "baby" (he is 31).
We were there from 26th August until 2nd September and I am sure we must have seen you or spoken.
yeah we watched the shows in ampitheater and pool side. My hubby walks with sticks so you may have seen us around . It did get rather hot as the week went on. We ususally had hour in games room in the morning playing pool with my daughters, son and step daughter then they had hour in games room playing bowling and on comp and playstation at night before we went to watch shows and kids to have popcorn and candy floss. MMM i say kids they 17,15,15 all girls and 9 boy, dont think the 17 year like being called a kid lol. We had a great time and anyone whos yet to go will enjoy themselves. Aslo got some great pics of hotel
I find myself wishing my life away between holidays. I love my two weeks a year relaxing in the sun. The Delphin Palace looks fab. How am i going to top it the year after 09. I may just have to book again!
I've got my mum and dad to book here for a week due to all the excellent feedback and reviews. They go in October so I'll let you know how they get on
