Qatar - Flights from Heathrow are £568 this weekend - of course we booked Nov - Mar

My nerves are janggling :yikes

Holding on for Qatar as we fly from Manchester - Tried Etihad to Mumbai but we would have to stay overnight in Mumbai been there done that never again :rofl

I looked at BA but the number of changes put me off - we are going out 2nd Jan to 28th Feb. so will wait another couple of week then I may go for it. :rofl

Not seen anything for 2013 from Manchester yet, it was June last year when the offers started. Hope they do same deals this time round..

Thanks Spike I am checking everyday. Missed out last year because I couldn't wait = cost #712 pp then they came down to about 450 pp but only for a few days

On my last post I wrote

Just booked tonight to go Dublin to Dubai ..Dubai to Mumbai...got it for a brill price £900 and thats for the two of us the flight is with Emirates so there are good deals about if you go looking them ...we go mid Jan to end of Feb 2013 ...colleen

Today for the same dates and flight times it is now £1742.00 thats one hell of a jump :pele

good times and magic prices...just wondered about the return flight from dabolim to Mumbai being early enough to connect.
Does it mean flying up the previous night and having a long wait in Mumbai?

Yes great deals, I'm afraid we got fed up with the near impossibility to get flights back via Mumbai, to Manchester or Glasgow, without an overnight stay or long transits in Mumbai.
For us now, although the £610 we've paid for Manchester flights with Qatar was fairly painfull, it is well worth the extra money, just to avoid the hassle of Mumbais xray machines in the middle of the night !

I am in shock have just had an email from Jet saying our flights have gone up £162 EACH!!! due to the revised departure tax at heathrow from 1st april 2012!! :yikes

thats shocking!!...not happy!!

I am no longer able to fly but checked out Emirates Glasgow to Bombay £545 to £575 early Jan to early Feb. We stayed in the Parl Hotel, £65 Bombay prior to our early morning flight and found it the best option.

chilly, the departure tax has gone up TO £162, not BY £162

just re read the HMCE page, and that figure refers to standard rate.
the reduced rate is £81
Maybe someone can confirm that most economy / charter seats will be in reduced rate bands.
