Its confusing, the contract of carriage is 32 pages and in legal jargon http://www.flykingfisher.com/contract-of-carriage.aspx (article 9) however it gives some hope if you do miss the connecting flight! we have 3hrs 45 min so would have thought that would be enough time.
im flying lhr - bom -goa and with 1hr 50 mins between connecting flight from international to domestic airport,
so hopefully no delays from london when i go
they reckon you should allow 3 hours. We did it in a lot shorter time( the time BA didn't send our luggage out and we spent ages on paperwork). If you are flying on a through ticket with Kingfisher then they will make sure you get on the next available plane( a Kingfisher one)
ps our flights have now gone up £60 each thats a lot of Kingfisher!
mine was the only option that i had so they must think that its possible otherwise they would not put it as an option..im not worried though ,,if it happens it happens..
Does anyone know if this is so as I dont want to be stood waiting for my cases at Mumbai if we dont have to.
Thanks.
Think you will have to collect them at Mumbai the flight to goa is a domestic flight so no customs and immigration to go through, you will find out for sure at checkin at Heathrow
Last time I went straight through to Goa with the same airline from the UK (Jet), you had to collect your cases at the baggage hall, put them through the xray machine at the customs point close by, then instead of lugging them over to the domestic terminal yourself, Jet had staff there who took the bags off you, and saw to their transfer over to the domestic terminal, and the next you saw of them was in Dabolim. That was about three years ago, dont know if it still works like that, or if Kingfisher has something similar in place Alan
gramps
of course im not wishing them to come back any quicker than they should.....
Flew out with Kingfisher on the 1st. You collect your baggage after going through immigration, then pass it through the scanner (kingfisher have their own scanner just round the corner from the one in the baggae area) they then label your cases and transfer them to the domestic terminal. You just get on the transfer bus with your hand luggage and pick your cases up at Dabolim. Hope this helps. Hughsey.
what was the flight like..ie service, seats etc..etc any good????
Thanks Hughsey, thats good info. Hope they dont take my Boddies and Guinness out of my case when they scan it !!
they should not because its in the case...
heres a good one for you though!!!
i fly emirates from lgw-dbx-mum then internal airline to goa..
so as it was xmas and new year i decided to buy a nice bottle of verve champers for the celebrations from dubai...)big mistake as it was more money than at a uk airport)
anyway got to mumbai and took the bottle out of my hand luggage and into my suitcase ready for the flight to goa.
checked in my suitcase and they scanned it for 10 minutes in the xray machine..after asking me to open it they all stood back and asked me to take the bottle out,,i was gutted thinkin ill lose the champers then they said the other bottle,i said there was not one they then said the lighter..
i had a triple flame gas ciger lighter and they wanted that and not the drink,
so i duly obliged and emptied the lighter of gas..
so no they should not take the drinks of you,,,but cans could be different!!!
Thats a beer dilemma, although I do like Kingfisher, Kings etc it is rather nice at the end of a hard day on the beach to pour a cold guinness so what would happen if they found my stash at Mumbai.
Check in at heathrow very organised, o/h asked for exits seats for his long legs but the check- in person said he was unable to give them without checking with his supervisor first who was not available. Dont worry sir I will note it on the system when you get to the gate asked then. O/h thought, oh well better luck next time but when we got to the gate we asked and they promptly changed our seats. It was a good flight but the cabin crew were not very organised when serving the meals. For some reason they served the front half and the back half of the plane first, took round the tea and coffee and then decided to serve the middle section, consequently the meal was cold but they did reheat it. Food average. The second leg front Mumbai to Dabolim was excellent, considering it was only an hour long they served water then came around with the meal which was very tastey, then brought around another drink and collected the trays. All done in the space of an hour. Hoping the flight back from Mumbai will be better. Hughsey.
My fiance and i are flying with kingfisher from heathrow to mumbai on the 28th of feb flight no IT 8 and flying back on IT 7. Could anyone tell me the seat formation (is it 2-4-2 or 3-4-3) its just we like to have a window seat on our own rather than have to sit next to a stanger. Many thanks.
We have just returned from Goa and did flight IT7 on way back, went out via Bangalore. The seating is 2-4-2 on all Kingfisher international planes, 34'' seat pitch so you can stretch your legs out.
Kingfisher is fantastic and I will never fly charter again to Goa, in fact just booked with them again for December on same routes.
thanks very much dazbo and silver angel sounds lovely cheers.
