What dreadful luck. Hope you get better soon and the Insurance company deal with it all swiftly.
As you say the best thing is probably to look forward to the canaries at Easter it will be here before you know it.

Hiya, this board has been quiet for a while...

My other half has booked us to go here in August and i've spent ages reading reviews and have to say it seems lovely.

Is anyone planning a holiday here soon that can tell me if it still lives up to expectations?

(P.S i'm sooooo excitied :D )

Hi everyone just got back. Second time at Grand Azure and glad to say it was just as great. Everyone really friendly, rooms huge and lovely, food great, weather brilliant!!!! 8)
The only down side is the airport and the hassel we got from people wanting to carry your luggage etc!! They were hasselling for tips to put your cases on the coach and take them off the carousel etc. In fact one guy we were talking to refused to pay so they put their cases back on the carousel and blocked their way so they couldn't get them off and had to wait for them to come round again.
We refused to pay and what we could see most people were and were putting their own luggage on and off the coaches etc. We spoke to the rep about it and she said because it is a military airpot there is very little we can do about it but I suppose if everyone refuses they may get the message eventually!!!
Its a real pity as it could easily put people off going to such a beautiful place.

Hi Suz glad you had great time... apart from the airport
I'm quite oppinionated so will no doubt tell them no firmly..

I've got one concern if you don't mind answering, or anyone else that has been.
I understand there is a jetty out into the sea and from what i've read people use it to find places to snorkel.
However I have a 5 year old girl that likes to paddle in the sea and I was wondering if this is going to be possible at the beach or are we going to have to take her down the long jetty for it to be safe?

is anyone going to the hotel in 3 weeks??

hi tilley
I think the more opinioniated people they come across at the airport the better it may start them thinking about their behaviour!!!
With regards your question re: paddling, it depends on the tide but most of the time she should be able to paddle at the beach but would recommend buying beach shoes, (not sure what you call them) but you can buy them from the shop on the beach. It would be worthwhile though taking her down the jetty as initially it is not too deep and she will never forget Nemo swiming round her feet!!!

Thanks for the advice Suz, i'm sure she'll love it :D

Hi, new member here.

We went to the Nuweiba Hilton last year, loved it, and have recently booked a week in June at the LTI Grand Azure. We like a bit of diving and snorkelling in lovely surroundings with the AI deal.

I would like to invite my 66-year-old father to come with us, so wanted to know:

1) has anyone else has any experience of being a single traveller to the LTI Grand Azure - and if so, how did you book the room/flight/package, and who with?

2) I have twice emailed the hotel directly to ask about single room pricings, but have not had a reply.........is this normal??

Any guidance is appreciated :)

I have emailed the LTI on both email addresses three times and still not got a reply about single rooms!! I've given up. :(

Any ideas anyone........any recommended cheap agents for single rooms?

I just need to know whether it's cheaper to book direct with the hotel and buy a flight or go through an agent. :?

hi rutterkin

i had tried the usual high street travel agents who said single occupancy was unavailable or v v expensive. i booked with eclipse and stayed at the coral sea and had a double room for single occupancy - i'm sure i paid £543 for a week (sept) all inclusive which i reckon was a bargain as the hotel was lovely and I had one of the best holidays ever! You could try getting a hold of Thomson (0870 164 7011)- they offer the LTI in this summers brochure, as they may need to fax the hotel direct to confirm that they can sell the room on this basis (eclipse done this for me).
Good luck :D

We are also flying out on 9th April. :D We have a 16 year old boy, 10 year old girl and 8 year old boy travelling with us.
 Why don't all you teens arrange to meet at a specific place that night or next day?
To the person requesting info on single occupancy, we are having to book a single room in addition to our family room. The extra cost incurred (including the extra flight costs) is approx. £800.

We just found out today that our flights have been altered and we will now arriving and leaving at this hotel later. :(
Does anyone know if they take your all inclusive option away from you when you check out the last day. I know a lot of hotels in eygpt do. I am already annoyed that we will probably not arriving at the hotel till nearly midnight. Had to pay an extra day car parking. And as we will not picked up until the evening on the last day I wondered if I will also lose out due to loosing our all inclusive option at 10am /12am when handing our keys

We left at 7pm at night and had no problem with all inclusive - they don't ask for the wristbands back. 12 lunch is check out time but we paid 25 dollars to keep room til 6pm.

:!: Good idea!
We won't arrive until 9pm ish (fingers crossed) on the 9th, but no doubt we'll be round the pool with the slides bright and early the next day.
