they do 3 pin plugs , because i bourght one by mistake from boots, i would think superdrug do them aswell.
i got my citronella candles from a shop called savers, but wilkos sell them, aswell as supermarkets, camping shops etc,
I know that Boots do their own Mozzi plug in for about £8 it has a 3 pin plug, it looks like on of those air freshner plug in things. I went to Cyprus last year (and am going back again in 5 weeks to get married) Didnt find Mozzies a problem really until i got bitten coming back on the plane. Will be investing in a bottle or two of the Avon SSS.
thanks
i will be taking my sss, i dont know if its garlic or yeast tablets you can take. any health shop should be able to help.
hi the seeds- dont really do tablets- malaria meds will be bad enough, i have heard about a tea tree repellent, will have to check it out, but i think its garlic tablets that do the trick.
when do you go? are you going to the dr?
we go next oct so if you go before me let me know if it works.
we go this october 62 sleeps to go. we are going to playa dorada. will go into holland and barret and into boots to see what they suggest. i will let you know what works when i get back
And, you can use Vitamin B12 for mozzie repellent. Have to start taking it about 2 weeks before you travel and then everyday you are there. My mum always gets some really nasty bites (needed treatment on one occasion) and when we were in Greece (which is mozzie heaven !) she never had one bite. Not sure if it was more luck than judgement but she swears by her B12 and doesnt travel without it - even when holiday in the UK.
try citronella mossies don`t like it or when in cuba this year we were advised to use white rum we did not sticky or smelly and never got another bite
I have just returned from turkey and on the 1st night i thought i would do an experiment because i didnt really want to use deet on my son as he has allergys.I put deet on hubby and my 2 kids and just avon sss on me.But im afraid im the only one who got bitten. So didnt chance it again and used the deet for the rest of the holiday. No one got bitten again at all..hubby and the kids got not a single bite all holiday...maybe i was just unlucky ...but even those 3 bites bothered me for the rest of the hols...god knows what it would be like if you had loads!!!!!....nicole
did you use soft and fresh fragrance?
I used the green one ,not sure what it's called.Maybe i was just unlucky but was too afraid to just use that on its own for the rest of the hols.Shame because i used boot's 50% deet spray and it really got down your throat..think it was maybe to strong!!...nicole
just been to boots and got a lotion with deet in (doesnt smell that bad.got a spray and a 2pin plug in.
the problem is , the doctors/pharmacist wont recommend anything othe than a 'clinical' one, but my youngest is only 2and a half. cant use Deet on him especaill y when it says not to let thjem get into the mouths and eyes.
Mosi-Guard Insect Repellent. it is clinically proven to work and best of all contains NO DEET. i know they sell this in wilkos if anyone is interested and poss boots.
thanks to you all for your help, will be on a shopping trip tomorrow, so will post prices in case anyones interested.
i found it on safariquip.
just had a look at boots online and they do a boots own for over 6 months.
you can buy the mosi guard online if you cant find it in local shops.
take care.
I asked the locals about what they use and all the ones i asked said they use nothing!!...dont know how they get away with it...nicole
will check boots out as well i think.
Tesco do their own brand of insect repellent for children. It is called "Kids Insect Repellent Pump Spray" and it says it contains a 'natural active' (not sure what that is) but states it is a good alternative to Deet. I used it last year for my daughter who was 1½ at the time. It is only suitable for children over 12 months. I have tried to find the product on the Tesco website but I cant find it. They were selling it last week though as I seen it in my local branch.
It was good actually, smelt a bit lemony but did the job. We were in Zante and the mossies were bad - she had no bites.
Hope this helps
thanks srhjnmgn. dont live near a local tescos unfortunatley. but i know if i dont get a shift on i wont get anything cos even though its august shops are not restocking stuff.
