Hi Daz any info on the Goa flights (MYT067)are they still using the 767's? Will they still be MYT planes or Thom Cook? We fly in December.

Elliebee,

MYT067/8 is currently being serviced by an Airbus A330-243. G-OMYT operated the flight on 4th November. Strictly speaking, all aircraft are now part of the Thomas Cook Group but it'll probably be a while until the liveries are changed.

Is that a better plane daz? Do you have a seating plan?

Sorry to be a pain

Elliebee,

In my opinion, it is a far nicer aircraft. There's loads of opinions over these pages. Remind me and I'll check next week to make sure its not a one-off because I know some Goa flight are the 767's. The A332 has seat back IFE throughout, configured 3-3-3 with 30" seat pitch in economy apart from the last 6 rows which are 2-3-2 (the fuselarge starts to narrow towards the rear). Premier Gold is 2-3-2 with 35" seat pitch. They are a quieter aircraft from a passengers perspect, I have a soft spot for the A332. The best bit though, they have external flight cameras fitted so you can see what the pilots are seeing and what you are passing over, they're fab.

I don't have the seating plan at the moment. MYT Denmark has removed them from there website. Maybe because of the MYT/TCX merger. Thomas Cooks aircraft are similar, click here. The main difference is the toilets are located downstairs on MYT's aircraft, they are on the main deck on TCX's.

Thanks Darren, ill check with you again in a couple of weeks. Last yr we went at the same time and the seat plan was 2 4 2 IFE was overhead so im guessing that was a 767.

Thanks again Darren

Have just read that the MYT plane we will be going to Goa on in a couple of weeks has the toilet downstairs What's this all about, never heard of that before!! :?
Anyone got any info on this :?:

ilovegoa,

MYT's A332's have toilets located in a block downstairs. This is unique to MYT. They are exactly the same as any other aircraft toilets, its just there location. This gives room for a few extra seats on the main deck and makes for a talking point, it's not often you get to go downstairs on an aircraft! Twin decks accessible to passengers is normally the domain of the 747 and the recently introduced A380.

Hi Darren, When I contacted you recently re my flight MYT095/6 from Manchester to Goa on 22/11/07 you said you you thought we would be on a 330-243 air bus. I have just had the tickets through and it says MyTravel B767 on them just below the flight number on info page, does mean this is the type of plane we will be on or is it more likely to be the airbus. I'm confused. :?
Thanks

ilovegoa,

I can only go off the information which is on my screen. It says MYT095/6 on 1st November was operated by G-MLJL which is an Airbus A330-243. I know the Goa flights have been operated by a 767-31K in ther past, but ACARS is showing an A332 operated the last flight. They may change the aircraft type on the day of your flight, but only time will tell. There aren't any logs for todays flight as yet, which departed 30 mins late. I'll check again in the morning or remind me next week and I'll see which aircraft they operated on that day.

ilovegoa,

G-SJMC, Boeing 767-31K was used on MYT095/6 on 8th November. It looks like they used an A332 for the first flight but have now commenced the use of the 763's which is in line with previous schedules.

hi darren
we are travelling on the 1st dec and on the myt063/4 last week you confirmed that we should be travelling on a airbus a330, but some one has said that a 767 was used today, but if this is true will they carry on using the 767 for when we go. may thanks debs

debbles2,

MYT063/4 was operated by G-SJMC today (10th Nov) which is a Boeing 767-31K. For some reason, MYT are swapping and changing aircraft at the moment and I can't predict what they will be using on future flights, I can only go off past flights. It's always difficult to predict things at the start of seasons until a pattern has emerged.

Hi Darren
Sorry to be asking more questions re the MYT095 flight to Goa from Manchester this Thurs 22/11
you said the 1st flight was airbus, then a 767 and you then mention 763 , is this a typo or is it another aircraft? sorry to be thick.
I am really hoping it will be the airbus as the IFE is better inseatback.
Thanks

ilovegoa,

This is the log for November 2007:

1st Nov: Airbus A330-243 G-MLJL
8th Nov: Boeing 767-31K/ER G-SJMC
16th Nov (delayed?): Boeing 767-31K/ER G-DAJC

It's looking like a 767-31K/ER I'm afraid. Boeing 767 is the generic aircraft type, 767-31K/ER is the exact varient. The 3 denotes 300 series, the 1K is the Boeing customer code for Airtours International Airlines Ltd who originally purchased the aircraft in 1994, and ER denotes it's an extended range model. 763 is just short hand for all of the above! (I'll take my anorak off now  )
