Hi all
Well done everyone on brilliant weight losses this week.
Have a good holiday wee.
Diet on the back burner at the moment. Not had a very good week. Will not go into details but not good news about my nan and my diet is the last thing I want to worry about.
Have a good week all.
Back soon.
Sarah
Well done Lindsay. It's lovely when you lose more than you think you are going to, isn't it.......
Hello peeps. I have returned to Slimming World and have lost 4lbs in the 3 weeks I have been there. I am an ex Target member so I have to lose the stone I put back on by not continuing to attend class each week.. It doesn't sound much but I am a slow loser despite doing daily exersise. So good luck to one and all.
i know the feeling i lost lots of weight a few years ago on sw too and by not staying in class (which is free as long as you stay within 2lbs either side of target weight) i put it all and more back on. good luck and well done!!!!
Hey, Hey, Hey it's weigh day Lost a measly 0.5lb After everything I denied myself! Ahhh well, better off than on as they say.
Not managed to get on site much recently - still decorating and house a bit of a 'bomb site'
Just got back from class 1.5lb on after maintaining last week 2 weeks previous had been good, had a rotten day on Friday - personal stuff and that sent me on the downhill spiral so no one to blame but me but at least I know the reason for the gain.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Sarah - thinking of you.
Irene
I am hoping these lovely losers (said in the best possible taste) will inspire me to reach my goal.
After the first week's good weight loss nothing much happened for a couple of weeks despite walking for 40 minutes 5 days a week. But I persevered with the thought that if it didn't help my weight loss perhaps it would benefit my health. Anyone else notice a difference in bodyshape but the scales they say" No" ??
Well, at last I see my weight has dropped this week.About time too. Delayed reaction no doubt. It is definitely harder to get the weight off the older you get. No probs putting it on though
Now somebody mentioned the SW chick pea cake some pages back. I always meant to make it after tasting some at a class many moons ago. It was actually very nice, just like a Madeira cake. But I never got round to it and then the thought of the ingredients in combination turned me off the idea. Silly really. I'm sure if you didn't know what was in the cake you wouldn't have a problem wolfing it down.
Does anybody have the recipe?
put on 1/2lb this week. I was very bad at the weekend so its not surprising.
thrilled to have lost 2.5lbs this week and slimmer of the week again!!!!
Well done Denny. What sort of things do you eat to be so successful? My book of supermarket free foods is way out of date. Can you recommend anything that is free, mealwise and tastes good?
i have the asda shopping book from sw and i think it is fab i won it when i was slimmer of the week. it tells you all the free food then all the red and green days free food then all the sin values of products under 20 sins on both days. so if anyone needs to know any values for food shopping in asda just pm me!!!

Now I am going to share a little secret with all you SW losers (and anyone else who wants some new ideas)

well not as bad as i thought i stayed the same!!! thanks for those recipes hbrac i have printed them off but ran out of paper with only 14 pages left to print!!! out of 99!!!! have a good week all lindsay.
thanks hbrac- useful link
Thanks for that hbrac, those recipes sound lovely and so easy to make. I will print them out later if i've got enough paper. Thanks again. Denny
Apparently filo pastry isn't too bad for syns and you can use it in place of shortcrust. A girl at our class says she makes a lovely Beef Wellington by wrapping a well seasoned piece of beef in a sheet of filo pastry. I'm not sure how long she cooks it for. I'll ask next week.

10 wks on Wednesday till holidays so the potential to lose 7-10lbs is there, think I'll skip Crimbo.
My daughter bought a Scottish Slimmers soup recipe book so if you are looking for anything a bit different or want ideas let me know.
Thanks for the link hbrac. I particularly like the sound of the Lemon & Lime Cheesecake. Feel a cook off coming on
Not dieted for about 3-4 weeks. My nan passed away two weeks ago and my diet has been the last thing on my mind. Not that I have eaten masses, just probably not the best things. Comfort foods.
Feel up to getting back on the diet wagon now and intend going back to class for the dreaded weigh in tomorrow night. Im not sure if its a good thing in itself, but myself and daughter have been suffering from stomach upsets (apparently, its rife at her school at the moment). Maybe it wont be so bad tomorrow night after all
Ill let you know how I get on. Well done everyone on your losses.

Anyone else notice a difference in bodyshape but the scales they say" No" ??
This is a common experience because muscle tissue weighs more than the equivalent volume of adipose fatty tissue. In other words two people can be exactly the same height and dress size but the one with more well developed/toned muscles will weigh more despite probably being the fitter of the two. Hence why it's possible that a really fit, toned athlete like Paula Radcliffe can weigh more than someone who physically looks heavier and larger than she does. This is because she carries virtually no subcutaneous fat and has a higher ratio of muscle tissue to other tissue than most women have - they will be carrying more of the lighter but bulkier subcutaneous fat around their torso than she does.
This is one reason why I gave up on the diet/weight loss approach and decided to concentrate on developing a change in lifestyle that incorporated more exercise and physical activity into it. I stopped calorie counting, threw out the scales and the tyranny of weight loss and concentrated on measuring success in terms of dress sizes dropped :-) Every new dress bought in a smaller size than before merits a celebration. So no getting disheartened as a result of only losing a 1lb despite 'depriving' myself, no feeling guilty about the occasional biscuit, no making hostesses feeling guilty because they'd served up something that wasn't allowed on the latest fad diet. Liberation!
Yes, it's taken a long time - 4 dress sizes smaller in just over 2 years is pretty slow going compared to a lot of weight loss programmes and I could still do with dropping a couple more but not once have I had to drag out the older, larger clothes consigned to the boxes on the top of the wardrobe because the newer stuff doesn't fit - something I regularly had to do in my dieting days. Not only did the weight lost always creep back on the moment I stopped obsessively counting every calory but it was always joined by a bit extra after each diet - hence those boxes on top of the wardrobe - I never really believed that I wouldn't ever fit into them again so kept them expecting that the weight would eventually return. However, I've finally been persuaded by a friend that those suits that have hung unworn in their garment bags for nearly 18 months because they're now too big, really should be sent off to the charity shop in order to make more room for the clothes that do fit.
