Resort de Palolem is our favourite. It's in a nice quiet spot on the beach and the food in the restaurant (china garden) is amazing.
Sorry I don't have a No for them though.

Hi

We just spent 4 nights at Inn Joy who have huts behind the restaurant on the beach. We were told 500 rupees to start then they dropped to 400 when we started to walk away and then when we went to do the form filling the boss guy (who hadn't been part of the negotiating process) charged us 300 per night which we were well pleased with!! Had attached bathroom with hot (well warm but who needs hot anyway) and cold water and a mozzie net that was set up high enough that it didn't keep us awake everytime we rolled over - we could even sit up in bed. The bed (in our hut anyway, which incidentally was called Andaman - they are all named after islands) was one of the most comfortable we have had in India all this year. Had a wardrobe with a safe type thing in too.

We are now in Agonda which is wonderfully quiet and with hardly a seller to be seen but have gone for a little guesthouse called Druv's which is about 200 yards past Sandy Feet. Also paying 300 a night here for room with bathroom and have use of fridge and kitchen if we want it. Beach huts are great for a few nights but I must admit am enjoying not treading sand everywhere now we are in a g/house!

Cheers

Just read that Princess Eugenie stayed here http://www.fernandeswoodencottages.com/ , on a recent visit to palolem, and paid £13 a night, I can't find much information about the huts. Not many photo's on the web, but they must be posh ;)
Has anyone stayed here or know of them ?

only been to palolem the once and we stayed in the cafe del mar beach huts. the huts where air conditioned had a shower and proper toilet!!! very comfy bed and mosquito net (under which i had the best sleep of my holiday)

They had a hammock outside for relaxing and storage space for clothes etc.

overall i would reccomend these huts but no any others to compare them too.

this also seemed to be the most popular place on the beach for evening entertainment, the place seemed to have a great atmosphere and was very chilled. i seem to remember getting quite drunk at the bar and not having very far to walk to crash out in bed haha...

i'm sure you have a good time wherever you decide to stay...

Can anyone recommend decent beach huts at decent prices.......was thinking of going to the south for a few relaxing romantic days with my o/h.

Any info would be really helpful.

Thanks

Madhu huts are cheap, i havent been there myself but i know a few members have http://www.madhuhuts.com/

Or for an idyllic location http://www.dwarkagoa.com/ im tempted to book there but its a lot more expensive although you do get all meals included.

I have just received an e mail from them, it is stunning, they are charging 6000 per night, but apparently if you want to stay for a long period then it goes down to 4000. Quite pricey I think, but then I guess you get what you pay for.

Pasteljay I would query that If i was you I have been quoted 4000 rps for one nights stay. This includes all meals, breakfast lunch and dinner plus morning and evening tea and snacks. Was that price quoted to you for over the festive season? Maybe thats why it was dearer.

Ive gone ahead and booked so ill let you all know what its like on my return.

Yeah I think its because its the festive period............I dont get to Goa till 28 Dec, when are you off then??? I still think its very pricey though dont you??? Or is it just me?? I have heard alot of people saying they can can nice beach huts for 500 or about that!!!

We are going 20th of December but are staying until 11th of Jan, yes it is pricey but take into consideration the meals. Plus i've never seen huts that look like that or on a resort like that. It looks like heaven.

The shed in our back garden is available on these dates...and my wife is a damn fine cook. :tup

Ah but Max, is your back garden facing the Arabian sea one side with a fresh water lagoon on the other? Also I doubt your thermometer is hitting 40 degrees at the moment ;)
