OOOOPS SORRY meant Premium not premier as we are Premier - if that makes a difference it doesnt seem to - not flying from Glasgow anyway....

The ex-FCA aircraft aren't routinely used on short haul flights. They are configured and used for long haul operations. They have 195 economy seats and 63 premium (258). They are pretty much standard through the aircraft so it's personal preference really. The ex-TOM fleet comprises of short haul configured aircraft (328Y) and long haul configured (283). You'll find more details on the What Aircraft? thread. Odd flights during the summer months used to be operated with long haul aircraft, but that's unlikely now under the merger. Can you just clarify if you are travelling in the premium cabin? or you are a Thomson / First Choice Premier customer (so travelling in economy but staying in a posh hotel)? I was a little confused by your post!
Darren
Is it to soon to know which aircraft are operating which trips??
What i would like to know is if it's an ex FCA plane or an ex Thomsonfly plane operating out of LGW in October to Male??
Also i have always used FCA and gone SCP in the past but this time the upgrade was just far to expensive so have not upgraded but booked extra leg room seats, have never done this before, so what does this mean exactly?? Will it be exit row seats or bulkhead seats etc?
I have heard people mention that they have booked leg room seats and didnt find they were any better???
Thanks in advance for all the mounds of knowledge!!
Katie
PS- (this is for darren) As i have previously spoken with you about, we have used the FC extra 10kg hold luggage for diving equipment, now they have merged do Thomson offer this free service??
LGW-MLE-LGW (TOM054/5) are operated by an ex-FCA Boeing 767-300/ER. Extra legroom seats are localted by the L/R 2 door (row 11; by the door on the outboard seats, bulkhead in the centre) and depending on the actual aircraft assigned to your flight, row 19, 22 or 28 (overwing exit row). Click on my signature for recent cabin photos. The outboard seats on row 11 offer plenty of space, but then you have disturbance from people queing to using the toilets. The centre seats on row11, being bulkhead offer greater seat pitch but you can't stetch your legs out because of the bulkhead. The overwing exits are probably your best bet as they offer more room and you can strech your legs under the seat infront. Extra legroom seats are slightly narrower than standard seats due to the tray table and IFE screen being located in the arm rest.
Divers are still given extra allowance (give the airline a call to pre-book it), but it's now reduced to 5kg compared to 10kg.

( Premier ? )and you have already confirmed it is a ex FC 767/300 ER and I was just wondering the best seat to request for my husband who is 6 ft 6 - we are not in Premium. I phoned Thomson yesterday and they advised me to phone back and book my seating 6 weeks before we fly. We already have "seating together".They wont let us sit at an exit seat as he is larger than your average bear !!
Thanx Again

You are a Premier customer in that case so will be travelling in Star Class (economy). All the seats are pretty much standard so it won't make much difference which seat you sit in. If you feel you want more room, it might be worth enquiring about the availability of extra legroom seating (refer to my post to katielind above). The 'select your seat' option should be re-introduced from May; the reason they advised you to call within 6 weeks of your departure to book specific seats. However, unless you want to sit in a particular part of the aircraft or want the peace of mind of booking a window or isle seat, I wouldn't bother.
Darren
Also pleased to hear they still offer the extra weight allowance for diving gear even if it is less than it was it's still a huge bonus!
RE the bulkhead seats, we were in seats 1ab and seats 1fg in December going to and from Mexico, i have to say that i didnt notice they were any narrower although i didnt like the arm rest TV screens.
Also Darren i have posted a queston in the Flybe section, could you have a peep for me??
Ta!
Katie.
Thnx for your speedy response Darren - Will prob phone and request an AB or FG seat - one of them should be at a window and the other at an aisle - Is that correct.... Sorry to be Pain in Article.....
That's correct; A/B are the window/isle on the port (left) side; C/D/E are the centre seats and F/G are the isle/window on the starboard (right) side.
Darren
Ta Darren - you are an angel.....
I am traveling MAN-ACE-MAN on 19th-26 April.Flight out is TOM 1943 Do you know what plane will do this flight. Thanks
Welcome onboard
MAN-ACE-MAN (TOM1943/4) are operated by a Boeing 737-300. Refer to our What Aircraft? thread for more details.
Darren
Thanks for quick reply.I assume this means no in flight entertainment.Do you know what the seat pitch is ? i have a horrible feeling that it is 28 inch.
All the details are on the What Aircraft? thread I linked to. Seat pitch is 28" and there's no IFE on these.
Darren
Thanks again. I have just been informed by my wife that we are not flying with thomson but with thomas cook(flights were booked by another member of our party, no-one tells me anything!!) I know I am now on the wrong forum but do you know what thomas cook plane is operating MAN-ACE-MAN on the same dates leaving at 9-15a.m (sorry don't know new flight number)
The flight numbers are TCX539K/L and are operated by a Boeing 757-200. Refer to the Thomas Cook thread.
Darren
PS I hope you get on the right flight!
many thanks again, shall take great care to get on right aircraft
I called them today for a flight on 11th May and was able to book our seat numbers for £10 per person.
By the way, this is the only way now you can book a window seat!
So, this facility is up and running for Summer 09, as long as you are within 6 weeks of departure.
Hope this information is useful.
Jason
Thanks for letting everyone know you were able to book your seats. We're going to Mexico on an ex FCA plane and will try to book specific seats.
Can I ask, did you book through Thomson or FCA, and which one did you ring to select your seats?
Thanks
