hi can anyone help. last year we used a brilliant meet and greet car park at gatwick south. it is literally next door to the terminal on the lower level. we just drove in, sorted out paperwork and walked through their offices and in to airport and on return came out of arrivals, turned right and straight into the offices to collect keys and car whichwas ready waiting. simples!! except we cant remember the name and i have searched the web but cant recognise it. thank you for your help jennyc

Regarding the re-sealable bags that can be bought at supermarkets; I have spoken to several people who had problems using the supermarket bags because a jobs worth at the airport said the bag wasn't completely transparent (it had the name of the supermarket on one side and even then you could see what was in the bag and by turning the bag over where there is no printing). I heard this before I went on holiday and put as little as possible in the bag but didn't have any problems getting through security, although they did test my lipstick (which is something they would probably do anyway).

Jenny, if you were to go onto the airport's website and do a quotation for the car parks, wouldn't it come up with the details of the meet and greet people together with the price? I have used Gatwick's website in the past for booking for car parks and lounges and have found them cheaper because they don't charge you for paying by credit card.

Hi All,

We use APH Gatwick,

excellent service, I even think they cleaned my car cos the windows were so clear,

Bus ride away ( 15 minutes ) but then you can unwind on your way to the airport after driving there and just chill when you get out of the airport on your return !!

Check them out.. they also offer discounts too :cheers

Sydney, the bags I got form Sainsburys had no writing on them - literally just a clear plastic bag.

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near gatwick? H and I are thinking of going up the day before and checking in the day before (7am flight) but I think we'll book the Flightpath parking and just go for a cheap and cheerful room somewhere. We have a 2 year old. A B&B may be an option.

check all airport parking, some have good deals for b&b plus parking,

i use APH, i know they also do accomodation deals but have never used them as i travel on the same day as my flight.

Unfortunately a lot of the plus parking deals want you to leave your keys or park your car for you. My husband likes to park the car himself and have it stay in the one place whilst we're away.

Hi Woody's girl,

We are doing the same, staying at the Travel lodge the night before, then onto the Flightpath in the morning. Also checking in the day before.

We fly from the North terminal.

Haven't stayed there before, but we've had a good deal at the "Gatwick Worth" where you can leave the car.

Debdon, you've just given me an idea, I guess it doesn't matter what sort of hotel just to get our head down for a few hours. Travelodge is only £39. Thank you.

You are welcome, they do a room with a double bed & sofa bed, make sure you click on that one. I forgot to check so we have a sofa bed too & theres only the 2 of us!! Nevermind, it was the same price ;) We booked a few weeks ago & it was £29 but things go up the nearer it gets I suppose.

We can now take our luggage over the night before, have a meal out somewhere then get our heads down for the night, gives you more time in the morning too, knowing you haven't got to queue at check in :)

There is a £5 charge though for parking your car at Travel lodge for the night.

Glad I could help.

Deb.

davidnewman9,

This is a question for our Monarch thread really. Monarch don't offer day before check-in. For more details, refer to Monarchs website.
