Could have sworn I posted a comment last night about starting well on the Dukan diet then failing when I got home from work/running around to the supermarket etc and ended up pouring myself a large glass of cold, white wine . Anyway, had a couple of mates round for an hour tonight so another bottle of wine! Tweety would you let me have details of your diet please?
I go away for the weekend with my friend on Friday so I think I've left it too late to lose anything now . My main holiday is in about 5 weeks so hopefully will lose half a stone before then. Wish me luck!!! Gail
BREAKFAST.....200mls fully skimmed milk with 2 scoops whey protien in.....this is a whey shake aprox 320 cals
LUNCH....same as breakfast.....aprox 320 cals
TEA......fish, or chicken and veg (broccolli or cabbage is best)....or a plain salad ...400cals
NO SNACK BREAKS....JUST DRINKS.....and drink extra water
Drinks.....black tea ....black coffee....water....if cant drink tea or coffee wit.h out milk use skimmed and as little as possible.....flavoured water or 1 cal cans ok too
Other good tips....I take vit c tablets...a multi vit and also kelp tablets for the iodine.....walking or any exersise boost the effect....the more you use your musles the better it works
Take your bust waist hips measurements..and also top of arms and legs....to compare after weight loss...or try on something a bit too tight to try on instead or both.
This one is hard to stick to but a good one if you need to drop a size quickly....it works for me

The " Ive got time version" goes like this
BREAKFAST.....oatmeal bran porridge made with skimmed milk....aprox 400 cals (not sure about the cals)
can also have a hi bran cereal like bran flakes with skimmed milk
morning break......tangerine or hand full of grapes or a kiwi or small bag physalis fruits....50 cals
LUNCH...whey protien shake.....320 cals
afternoon break .....same as morning break
TEA.....fish chicken or lean meat with veg ( broccolli or cabbage is best...careful with the root veg) or plain salad
Drinks and tips same as fast diet..
IM NOT AN EXPERT.....this is a diet I use myself when need to loose weight and get into my holiday clothes....and it works for me....hope it helps

Well I'm back again....didn't do very well last year, had a few health problems but I've started slimming world and I've lost 8lb in four weeks, if I go on as I am till my hols, I'll be at my target weight
I cant believe this post is still going, my god its been along time since i have been on here but unfortunatly not dieting as i always am. I am on yet another diet as we speak I have lost 2st 3lb in around 5 months. I went to slimming world for years but this time i needed something strict so i did what i said i would never do and thats go back to calorie counting. My weigh day is Wednesday, I had a day off last week as we went for a meal for my sons birthday. I did however stick to very low cals all the rest of the week ( not good) so i was gutted when i gained a lb. Oh well been 100% this week and hoping to see a loss.
I tried calorie counting but it just wasn't for me, lost another 2lb this week, it's coming off slowly but surely and I'm never hungry. I bought a summer dress in a 12, it was a wee bit expensive so gives me more of an incentive to loose the weight for my hols.

CazzMicknTom congrats on your 2lb lose What diet are you on? I have not done calorie counting for 14yrs, I always lost weight doing it but then i found slimming world and thought i would never go back to CC as i love my food so much but after doing SW for yrs (must have lost about 10st going up and down) not SW fault i felt i would give CC one more try. I do find it hard but hey its working but my problem is keeping it off not getting it off lol.
dinner-lady congrats to you too on your 5.5 weight loss Ooooooo DR very nice ( dont think i could do the long haul but would love to go all the same) 17lb is defo do able in 22 weeks. My friend does WW and she is doing really well too.
ShirleyV How you finding SW I really do enjoy that plan, eat eat and then eat if you want too I think i may look into starting that again after my hols. Have you tried Joes sausages yet oh they are sooooooo scrummy and are syn free ( even better!) dont worry about how much you have to lose just think of how much better you will feel to get what you can off, works for me lol.
How are your weigh ins going?? Come on girls we can do this. I have 9lb to get to target but i want to lose an additional 7lb before i go to Turkey . So thats 16lb to get off in 11 more weigh ins. Well its fingers crossed. Goodluck ladies
I lost a stone and a half last year but have managed to put a stone back on . Really can't get in the mood for dieting (plus I like a drink in the evenings) at the moment; need to get a move on though cos I need to lose at least 2 stone for the beginning of July
Hi Pargaluvva are you off somewhere nice in July? I have excatly the same problem as you when i lose weight its keeping it off thats the hard bit. And my downfall is also having a little drinkie in the evenings but then i seem to think that the drink goes hand in hand with a chinese meal for ten ( only me and hubby eating it ) Up until last week i had lost 2st 8 and then went on the slippery slope of birthdays ( meals out, drinking ) and gained 3lb But hey ho i am back on track now. I found that when that sun came out on Sunday i was glad i had managed to drag my backside onto the diet because it would have been the norm as every summer is for me.... Yep walking around in my coat thinking it has magic powers and somehow makes me look slimmer, Not the case at all lol. I found that when i woke up in sept something just snapped into place and although i have had a few slip ups i am trying my best to get straight back onto it when i fall off......The diet wagon that is lol. Goodluck and am sure you will be fine
Oh well its my weigh day tomorrow but with only having 5 good days put in am not getting my hopes up We shall see

Hi alsbaby. Going to Majorca for a few days with my best friend; really looking forward to it. I hate being this overweight but it seems to have crept up on me over the years . Used to always be around the 9 st 2 lbs mark but now you can add another 3 stone to that argh!!! I've decided I'll cut down on the wine, cheese and crisps and walk for an hour every day. That's what I did last year and I lost the weight quite easily. I really want to get back on track but we seem to have been out drinking a bit lately and that's when I get the 'munchies'. You sound just like me with the Chinese (takeaways and restaurants) and pickled onions. Lol. I'll keep you updated and you do the same. Gx
As you said you have already lost weight just by cutting certain things out and its worked before so you go for it girl I bet you will have a ball when you go to Majorca, Oooooooo a girlie holiday.....BLISS!
I started this diet 24 weeks ago today ( just worked it out lol) My starting weight was 11st 13.5lb and at 5.1 being that weight and height i just couldnt carry that weight well at all. I got weighed this morning and i have lost 4lb taking me to 9st 5lb. Thats a total of 2st 8.5lb am well chuffed! Now i know that seems to have taken a long time but i have had some gains inbetween, still it doesnt seem that long to be honest. I had set my target at 9st but i want to get to 8.7 for my hols but to be honest i dont feel i will be happy at 9st cos my body shape has changed over the years but maybe i will just have to get off my a**e and do the dreaded exercise.
Hopefully we can help each other out on here through the good and especially the bad days.

Wow Alsbaby that is brilliant and you should be sooooooo proud of yourself. Loosing it steadily will give you more of a chance of keeping it off too. I need to get back to SW but the enthusiasm just isnt there at the moment. Lost 4 stone originally with it and although I have put on about 1.5 stone since ive stopped, my shape is still good. Go away myself at the end of June so planning on starting the diet again during April (dont want to peak too soon ). Well done and keep it up.
Hi alsbaby. Well done! I've just come back from my son's school, he sits his exams this year, and there has been a 2 hour discussion. The first thing I did was pour myself a glass of wine . My father in law has been in hospital for 6 weeks so I've been doing a lot of running around. He comes home tomorrow but will be totally bedbound for the forseeable future so I've got lots and lots of things to sort out; so I need to relax in the evening lol. Moving on to my break with my best friend; can't wait. We have been friends for 40 years and this will be the third year we have been away minus kids and hubbies. We have a great time; total relaxation, good food and plenty of booze. At the moment I'm about 12 st 7 lbs and I would love to get down to 10 stone. Lets def help each other out. I look forward to our chats. Gail x

Gail you do have alot going on at the minute i dont blame you for reaching for the wine ( i would be blotto by now lol) I am sorry to hear about your father in law and hope he gets better really soon. Its sooooo hard to get motovated with healthy eating when you have so much going on and the chippy is a calling. The holidays away with your friend sounds fab (dont think mine would let me go "sobs" lol)
Irene come on spill... what big birthday is it Only kidding. 11lb is very do-able by july/August I too used to do SW and i enjoyed it but found it hard to stay on track but CC is very hard but for me it works cos on SW i used to eat cos i was bored and it was free ha.
My favourite meal at the min is special fried rice from Iceland but at 503 cals it takes up half my daily count but i am addicted lol. I add 100 grs of chicken some leek,MSG and of cause soy sauce to it and really does taste and look like takeaway. If anyone wants to try it ( been told its 9.5 syns on green though) Oh but when you mic it dont eat it then..... Nooooo its terrible! I spray the wok with frylight and then fry it for a couple of minutes until it gets to the chinese takeaway texture, I live on it lol.
Sorry for waffling once i get started i find it hard to shut up especially about the fried rice
Just tried a packet Marmite breadsticks well thats 110 cals am never getting back. i wouldnt mind but i didnt even have any cals left and took it off tomorrows, I knew i shouldnt have bought them cos am like a big kid, if i know they are there i want them. They were ok at first but the more i ate the worse they got but would i stop OH NOOOOO cos then i wouldnt know how many calories i had ate and have to put the 110 down without having them all. Am not doing myself out of my cals even if they are horrible ha.

After a five stone weight loss ive gained a stone and am pretty gutted ive no excuses-i basically couldnt control myself over christmas and new year and ate far to much "nice" stuff!!!) I really need to accept that christmas has gone and i dont need to keep eating the chocolates that are still tempting me!! I would like to lose the stone i have gained by june and a little bit more if i can!! Its took me 3 wks to lose 3lb but ive not been perfect so its a start.
Alsbaby-well done on your weight loss, its so hard to do and maintain but dont give up you are doing so well. If i feel hungry and im feeling strong, chocolates need to be under lock and key tho, i have a cup of tea or coffee, i find a warm drink convinces my stomach its had food!!! i just miss a biscuit to dunk in it!!
