My first visit hopefully at the end of July, Marhaba beach Sousse. :tup

Aslema - its certainly addictive!! I know from this forum you stay in Sousse, we always stay at Marhaba Palace but in the last year we have been to Dougga, Thiburbo Majus and all the usual El Jem Carthage etc. We would normally just laze about by the pool with the odd golf thrown in so its certainly been a fascinating place for us. When you read some of the very negative comments in this and other forums (ta) its like a different place they are talking about. Another addiction is ArganOil !! It keeps me looking fabulous (oh and hubbylikes it too) !! :D

On my first trip many years ago I did the usual excursions to Carthage, El Djem, Sid Bou Said. Tunis and the Bardo Museum etc. organised by the tour operator, and since then I've done the Sahara a couple of times, but now I'm inclined to just hop on a train, bus or louage if I want to go anywhere. I've stayed in hotels in PEK and also spent a weekend at Borj Cedria when I went over for a wedding - pleasant hotel but absolutely nothing to do in the area. Lots of happy memories, but we have to accept that Tunisia doesn't suit everyone, particularly if they are addicted to the Spanish Costas.

Incidentally, I haven't come across Argan oil so I'll have to look out for that, though I think it's rather too late to recover my fabulousness. :rofl :rofl

Been to tunisia twice staying in skanes. Off to hammamet on march 13th to the phenicia. Never been here but really looking forward to it.

Argan Oil you can get in some supermarkets, but the Soula Centre sell really good face stuff Huile d@argan ( in a white box) - its lovely on your skin. Lots of organic beauty products here now contain it (Liz Earle & Moroccanoil products) but quite expensive so its lovely to get the real thing in Tunisia. My face really does look fabulous ! or is the veil over the mirror something to do with it? :)

Thanks for that. I've made a note of it. Sorry we've strayed :offtop I'll tell you a funny story Anne but over in 'gossip corner'. :rofl

We were in Sousse last September staying at the Marhaba Beach and had the best holiday we've ever had. The day after we got home, we were straight down to Thomsons and booked again at the same place for this year. Can't wait!! :sun2

We did the Sahara trip last year but this time we want to go to Tunis and Carthage.

just checked holiday prices from belfast have increased £20 from yesterday

I think we may all find prices have gone up - the companies have to recoup their losses from somewhere!!

Roswell - if you want to visit Tunis independently you can do it by train from Sousse very cheaply. You can also do Carthage I believe.

I have just looked on Thomas Cook ,Thomson and Portland websites for holidays in March and cant believe how cheap the prices are.
Thomson are cheaper than Portland and the 2 week price is the same as what I paid last March for 1. :tup
I just have to ring our travel insurance and convince OH to go for 2 weeks.

I have been scouring the reviews tonight and although we enjoyed the Abou Sofiane I like the look of the Riu Green Park which has good reviews and is it a good position.
Has anyone stayed here?
