I reckon there's been a huge reduction in the number of seats flying to Goa in winter 2012/13. It looks to me like Thomson and Thomas Cook have both made big cuts from Gatwick and Manchester. And prices have risen accordingly. Anywhere in the Caribbean is now much more cost effective.
You can still find many sites promising low prices but the small print states that
It's a guide price and they want you to ring.
I think sites like that should be banned as it just wastes your time.
Anyone found anything LHR-GOI for less than £500?
Ta
Steve
When do you want to fly steveandjayne? Im a fan of Qatar to be honest dont want to fly to mumbi then onto Goa. You just have to keep checking prices. They do have promotions on. I booked recently for a month march 2013 for £578 return. That was from manchester but usually similar from Heathrow.
We missed out so far this year so looking to go early November.
We have flown Qata but find the flights really tiring.
The last few times we have left LHR about 9.00pm so got to Goa in the afternoon. The following day.
That way you are asleep overnight on the plane.
To be honest though if the price was right I would even look at Monarch Priemium
Cheers
Steve
this deal has just been e mailed to me from Qatar must book by 30th June 2012 and travel by march 2013
Price £560 LHR- Goa,via Doha
I just looked at Qatar as I do every day hoping there is a bargain, that flight is cheap because the transit time is massive
The software used keeps track of enquiries as well as actual bookings and will record searches as possible sales, this in turn will generate "interest" in the flights and so the result may be that prices remain high as there is the impression that lots are waiting to book anyway so why reduce the price.

Transit time depends on the day you choose to leave the uk, connecting flights to goa are not available every day
oh well guess I will stop looking till Novemeber then and hope I can find a flight for less than £800 withought a transit time of 35 hours lol
jet airways £568 is that good? theres a 5 hour overlay at airport coming home Is Mumbai airport ok to hang around in
You've been and gone and done it know
It will set us back weeks
Stop it now!
We've transited through Mumbai many times. They do have some lounges that you can pre-book
There are a few places to eat as long as you are there in normal working hours.
They also have some chase sofas to relax on. Better than trying to put chairs together.
We spent a few hours last visit watching a rat jump in and out of a vent duct.
Not a bad place to spend a few hours.
Our last visit was May 2011 and they are always improving it in one way shape or form so it might be even better next season.
Hope this helps
Steve
thanks ...I am looking forward to rat watching
it lands at 11.35 and the connecting flight is 1330 is that enough time to get to the other terminal then?
Should be fine
Our only problem we encountered was with jet when they lost our luggage and we missed the connecting flight.
We had to wait 4hr till the next plane.
The bags arrived over a day later.
If you are travelling through with the same airline they wouldn't have suggested the flight if they thought you couldn't make it.
You will find that airline reps will steer you through.
I wouldn't worry. I will carry your bag if you buy me a ticket lol
Glad you've booked have a great time
Steve&Jayne
not booked it yet lol I worry if I book it now all the prices will go down by Feb

If you want to go in Feb I would go for the £556 with Jet which is a reasonable fare imo
for the last 13 years we have always flown direct so I am a little scared to book via mumbai but it seems I have no option
whats better Air India or Jet Airways?
Jet did loose our bags for 24hr last time but that's the first time ever we have had a problem so on average bound to happen sometime
