and this is safe place to wander in evening with kids?
what is there to do and see etc
Back from the Conrad a few days ago - and can quite agree with most of the posters over the last few months - This Hotel Is VERY GOOD indeed !!
I have posted a report in the Main Conrad Review - but have no fear you will enjoy this laid back beach haven. It has everything you need and if there is something missing - all you have to do is ask, the staff go out their way to help you and make your holiday a good one.
The rooms (3rd Floor Superior - Sea View) were great, the food was boardering on Very Good, yes sometimes it seemed repetative, the animation team tried hard to please most people, as I said in my report - the average age of couples were in their 50's and loud Rap and Garage music after dinner didnt go down to well at times !! There was always space around the pool and beach areas and the snorklling was to die for.
From what was first posted in early May when the All Inclusive first started I think the hotel has come along way to equip to the 'Brit' way of life -
We have many memories of Egypt and the Conrad - the one that comes up the most is the way the Staff look after you and to cap it all there is a new First Choice rep - LORNA ...
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Conrad and will certainly be going back in the future.
Kind Regards
Gordon.
Hi Gordon
Yeah me too. I took your advice and asked by email for 3rd floor rooms, we ended up in 3131 and 3132 - I need not say more, will miss the view for ever eh ?? Keep having a giggle to myself about the 'airport' and the Italian 'morning aerobics'.. and all the other little things that make your holidays... Always next year eh !! Keep smiling.
Perfectly positioned for the beach (steps to beach 3 seconds from front door) and the beach shower at the bottom of the steps. Easy access to the gym and shops if you walk past the sports court and a quick walk to the Baron!
I'd recommend these rooms to anyone, their location is ideal
Did you see the little lizards on the wall by the steps? They make a very funny noise!
Yes we called them 'chit chats' out in the Far East... They seem to keep the 'ants' down a bit too!! I see what you were saying about the 'ants' with the boots on Big suckers werent they!! One thing while we was talking with Lorna the new rep - lovely girl !! The new buildings behind the Disco will become 'exclusive' to First Choice, apparently when its all complete will contain over 100 rooms!! Im wondering if that means the 'Front Row' will no longer become available ?? Another thing thats just made me giggle - Dont get me wrong, but cant the Egyptian's EAT - Guy's you know what we mean when you sit on the next table to them in the Dining Room and I thought the brits could pack it away
I am going to the Conrad next week. 29th. i am wondering , how much cash should I take?
I have also booked a open water dive with Sinai divers. Has anyone done this and is it worth it?
Thanks
As far as cash goes - I can only advise you to exchange a small amount of Egyptian Pounds to see you over the first few days or so - and take the rest in Stirling with you - not so secure some would say but you get a far better exchange rate at the Bank in the Hotel !!
Cant comment on the Diving, but from what you can read of back mails on this board and from what was said at the Hotel - BOTH the Sinai and the Acquarius dive center's are ok - the advantage of the Sinai is that its on the Hotel beach!! Everyone that went diving was MORE THAN PLEASED!! The snorklling was to die for so the diving will be out of this world - Im sure you will enjoy both the diving and the hotel..

Gordon
I've just been reading what gordon said about requesting rooms by E-mail and quite fancy doing this, the only thing is I'm not booked superior (yes I'm the cheapskate that plumped for standard!) and I wondered does anyone know of any standard room with a nice view that I could request incase I get stuck with the worst?
Sorry I cant help you with any room numbers - but the large majority of the rooms have views overlooking the pool area which is very nicely set with lots of palms, flowers and shrubs... but 'go on' break the bank and upgrade to a 3rd floor superior - you will not be disapointed !!!!

hi guys, we were at conrad in august dont think many rooms would have bad view we booked standard room 3 in total and couldnt fault any, could see pool from our balcony, even the beds we sat on for the fortnight, easy access to everything, wish i was back there, looking at going either back to conrad or to lamaya beach in marsa alam, been told diving snorkeling is even better there, trying to persuade my 2 teenagers they dont realy want to go back, but not having much luck, better start saving for deposit.
Yes there are a great number of us wishing we were all back there
But surley it must be the Conrad again ? Did you notice with the drop off's and pick up's that the other Hotels were 'very well spread out' and needed a trolly bus to take you to the beach !! I think you hit it on the head with the Conrad - 'everything' was within easy access no matter where your room was.
Oh to arrive in the chaos of the arrival's hall again and the trolly boys outside - we will all be experts and a breeze next time

Hello
Going on Thursday. I can't wait!!!. Will I be able to get aqua shoes from the hotel or would anyone sugest that I buy them here?
Does anyone know when the diving centre does the open water course as I am going to do it?
Thankyou...
You can buy aqua shoes from the shop near the Baron hotel. Turn right along the seafront path then right again into the shopping area, walk right round past the Baron entertainment area and you'll come to a supermarket. It isn't a supermarket as we know it, just sells drinks, sweets, crisps and ciggies but also sells snorkelling eguipment and aqua shoes, not expensive.
One of the Conrad shops sells the shoes but when my Mum needed some they only had kids sizes.
I can't help with the diving but just go to the sinai divers hut on the beach and they'll help you.
Enjoy!

Ben,
I agree with everything that's been said about the Conrad, we've just returned and had such a great time, so relaxing.

We're going back Sept 06 and hopefully April or May 06. Hubby has got the diving bug. Not that I mind, I can laze on the sun lounger all day
