Where did you get that husband, who cooks, even from recipies
my hubbies contribution to the Turkish night would be just drinking the
Efes
can taste the bread now......
Yep - tried it with the garlic butter, tomato and chilli paste, garlic mayo, mixed vegetables - sorry but the meze tasted fine - bread was like eating cardboard !

Maybe you were unlucky and chose one of the very few places where the bread is not very nice. Chefs do vary.................
However, Turkish bread (and there's many different types) is usually delicious. I wish you could buy fresh bread like that in the UK but it's near impossible. Bakers hardly exist in the UK - it's all supermarket- bland -white- doughy stuff. I heard they even do a crustless loaf in the UK now...I think the crust is the best part!
Did you try the white bread in Turkey that looks similar to an English uncut loaf? That's always very good.
if lavash goes hard too soon its because theyve rolled it too thin.
I have the lavash recipe off the link, but Im hoping to get recipes for meze (particularly the garlic butter and yogurty cucumber stuff) and also Ottoman Kebab/Turkish Casserole, perhaps meatballs.
PLEASE HELP!!
I have got some of the spice mix for the meat balls very nice! I got it in Turkey not here
'Sir' makes kofte and I do a pretty mean kuzu guvec (lamb casserole) - we had a Turkish BBQ on New Year and it was wonderful!!! Neighbours, kids, the lot - only missing the Effes. Have to say that I make a pretty mean Baklava as well. Will post recipes if anyone wants them. The challenge this year is make an Adana kepab....anyone have a good recipe?
