Have a look at the July letter from the DE. I think it says that the £10 should have been refunded if Rise took it from your account.

What compensation ?? is that for all the money we've all spent on 0870 phone calls, disapointment and lies, lies and more half truths we have all gone through ( I wont press on the cost of ding dong, or Juro's tanker (the bridge tolls alone would have chartered the barge I snapped passing the Rise office, in Timperley) so what compensation is the "director is making a decision on" I wonder Answers on the back of a £50 note please (lets have no scimping)

You know very well that mention of Julie Prescot will give many of us sleepless nights - you just want to upset us! And chuckle about it.

You shouldn't have had to dial many 0870 numbers as the DE is freefone and Rxxx have Manchester numbers (and freefone, I think).

I was offered £150 compensation - which I rejected. Others have said the same - though I think they would have raised the offer to get rid of non-cruisers. The offer would have to be MUCH better to compensate for a lost cruise (single cabin) plus inconvenience and cost of our time. £2000 perhaps?

Incidentally, you might like to know that Ofcom, the communications regulator, has just announced that they are stopping the 0844/0870/0871 cons.

Freephone well thats news to me and I suspect to many others on this forum
Rise only had 0870 numbers at first,(and I've not heard of any other numbers, we did once get 0161 numbers but they disconnected them I think
As did the D.E. so it did cost quite alot - as Rise only had about 6 on the call centre and the policy was to put you on an automated system, well it was my experiance anyway.

Nearly 450 pages and 18 months it's hard to believe there are only 2 days to go. Thanks everybody for all the help in getting this far and good luck to those of you still waiting. We'll try to keep everything shipshape for you Phil.

I have only just joined this group after finding out about it from a friend. i only this week sent a letter threatening the small claims court to rise travel which they have responded with a letter telling me that daily express is now dealing with the matter. i see from the last post here that there is some kind of a meeting about to happen, will someone tell me what this meeting is about and what the 2 day thing in the last post is. thank you all from dave. hope we all get our cruises or compensation worthy of the cost of a cruise

The meeting referred to is meeting up on the ship for the long awaited cruise. The 2 days refers to the days before this happens. Some of us have been very lucky to get our cruises which most have reported were great cruises, others have theirs booked over the next few months. i am afraid that there are a great number of people, including yourself, who are still waiting to be offered cruises.

Bon Voyage to all those due to sail on Monday. I'm sure you will have a fabulous time and we look forward to reading your reports on your return. They will bring back happy memories for some of us, and give encouragement to those still waiting.

Hi Nethy and welcome to HT!

As Sue has explained, the next lot of successful applicants leave on Monday for their long awaited cruise. There are still many, like yourself, who haven't been successful to date, but please don't give up.

The Daily Express have taken over the organisation from Rise Travel and have been in discussion for the past few months. We haven't heard of anyone having a cruise confirmed since they took over the administration unfortunately.
