hi all
Will at work i came across a couple who are due to go to pp on the 1 may for two weeks they and 8 others. I told them we were going and they told me they to had been messed about but to my shock they told me that they kicked up such a fuss they cancelled and re booked and were refunded £700 has anyone else done this or heard about it just if thats the case then we should all be able to do the same, lets have it they have our money and have made enough intrest on it to pay us back.

I've read through these posts and i'm quite shocked to say the least - we stayed at the Pegasos Palace last August and I can honestly say we had a fantastic time.

If the Tropical is going to be shut I really wouldn't let it bother you because there is so much going on at the Pegasos Palace there is no need for you to even wander over to the Tropical. We wandered over to the Tropical probably twice just for a bit of a different theme of evening entertainment but that was it.

We were terrified of going after seeing it on tv and reading things on here from previous guests and I can honestly say it was fabulous and believe me I can be really picky and fussy but i couldn't fault it.

I'm sure lots of you that are going will come back and say WOW I know some people did experience unpleasant things last year but this can happen anywhere can't it - lets hope all of you are the lucky ones and enjoy it as much as we did

we went last year in july and made lots of english and turkish friends and had a fab time.we enjojed so much we are going again this july.roll on 15 weeks.

Hi all, well im finding all these new posts brilliant, after all the upset of having to change from the Kos Aqua Beach Club to the Palace I have had a really bad few weeks should I shouldnt I cancel and just cut our loses.

These last few postings have been really positive and made me feel great about going, I suppose the big deal was Ive never been to Turkey before and never wanted to, mainly because you hear alot of horror stories about Turkish men harrassing the women, being a mother of a teenage daughter that panicks me to say the least. My sister went last August though and she says that there is a big difference in the way the Turkish men treat the women now and she didnt feel uncomfortable at all. Not like a few years ago when they were shoving notes under her hotel door and trying the handle in the night, it frightened her half to death.

Anyway just thought i would get that one off my chest.

Two weeks, six days and eight hours to us going Yippeeee !!

do you mean these people who cancelled and got refund re-booked for pp or a different holiday with first choice would be nice to get some money back but either i'm looking forward to going and making most of it nice to hear some positive reviews!

We are going on the 4th May although we dont get there while the 5th May about 6am I think without looking at the paperwork, and we come home early hours of the 19th.

Its so close now getting really excited.

Ill be the one proping the bar up and doing my best to embarass the kids cos there easy to wind up, so if you see me come and say HI.

yes they re booked the palace. We cant wait to get out there counting the weeks just 3weeks on monday

so if your there on the 8-21 may come and say hi we are a friendly fun loving family with three rug rats only joking there great, each have there moments lol kids are so childish at times

its been a god send this forum thanx to everyone for all there open minded, honest opinions cant wait to let you all know how we get on in may hope you all have a brill time whenever you are going

A fter bookings a year in advance, being moved from tropical to palace and then finding out that the tropical will be closed - today we have had major flight changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are now going at the crack of dawn instead of an afternoon flight. What else can they do next???

Has anyone noticed in the 2007 brochure or online you can't pick which hotel you want to stay in The Tropical or Palace.
It must be pot luck

i hope to see you both there! anne will you let us know how you go on about getting a refund prob a bit too late for us now with going in three weeks.Debbie i too will be at the end of the the bar leaving hubby with kids ha ha play hard with kids during day then drink loads for me later!! can't wait three weeks on monday had my cases packed for weeks and hopefully will be able to put some positive feedback on this forum for everyone when we return.

I like to pop on here every now and again to see if I can help anyone out.

I notice that a lot is being mentioned about the Palace and Tropical dividing. When we were there last Aug/Sept we had a conversation with a rep who did say that they had only got both hotels on a 2 years contract and that it could be that one would go to another chain. The Tropical was occupied by English and Dutch guests whereas the Palace was English only.

The reason we got on to this whole conversation was because the reps were asking us if we had had a great time and we had said that the only thing that we had found a pain was that it was all Brits and not mixed. 95% of the Brits were brilliant but some made you ashamed to be English. Lets not get into all that again.....

Needless to say we had a fantastic holiday - nothing spoilt it really - if we were next to some less desirable guests we moved - the place is huge!

Some of our family are back again for 2 weeks in August - so it goes to show you how good we thought it was. Im not going back (as yet) - nothing to do with the hotel just that we like to go somewhere different every time.

Hi Joolz - same as you we were there last August and you have hit the nail on the head! we had a fab time but a few days before we were due to fly home I was desperate to get out because of what had been shipped in!

I can't find any fault with the hotel/complex or anything it was all really good and my children loved it. We aren't going back this year and probably won't go back ever again but thats simply because we don't do the same thing twice and it was a bit out of the road for me - i like to be in the centre of the action but it was a real lovely relaxing lazy holiday

If any of you get the chance you want to visit Turtle Beach it was lovely

Hi all, been over all the old ground with the reviews but ignoring all the negative the one thing that keeps coming up about last season is the MOZZIES.

It looks like it really spoilt alot of peoples fun last year, Lemongrass and Citronella essential oils are really good as a repelant put a couple of drops on the kids socks on a night and around the apartment and it works a treat. My sister also swears by the gel repelant although I dont no what it is called, she put it on her body before she went out on a night and she said it worked a treat, her friend didnt bother but she got bitten to death.

Although looking at the photos on the Pegasos Palace Photo Album there was alot of waste land and marshy land last year that hadnt been completed, hoping that this is the reason and its all gone now.

Anyway the moral to this story is get MOZZIE prepared and lets zap the little buggers instead of em zapping us.

My Mum went to Turkey last year and she has warned me about the Mozzies. She swears by Mozi-Bands! I have just found them in Morrisons for £2.25 for a pack of two or you can get them from Ebay. A friend of a friend went to the PP last year and she said that there were loads of people walking around looking like they had Chicken Pox.

We went to Turtle beach on a trip it was so beautiful - cant say I felt the same about the mud baths - what a stink

Mozzies - been to Turkey lots of times and I always get one or two bites and I did again when at the PP. The hotel shop has special patches for babies and toddlers - and this seemed to do the trick. I agree that the problem probably is sorted now all the work has been completed.

Im so jealous that you are all going - we watched our holiday video the other night - nothing on the TV - and we were all going ' oh look at that' ' wasnt that brilliant' etc.

My daughter was asking why cant we go back there - after watching the tape part of me wishes we had booked again.

We are going to palace on 7 august for 2 weeks - looking forward to it despite some of the comments on here. We believe that a holiday is what you make it. We are a family of 6 kids 18, 14, 12, 12.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get birthday cakes made at the palace as it will be the better halfs birthday whilst we are at the palace.

Hi Joolz307 thanks for that about morrisons bands will try them anything to make the holiday run smooth. Also good to hear that you enjoyed it that much you wished you had booked again, your probably like me go once and try somewhere else. Although my favourite of all destinations was always Punta Prima, Menorca. The best holiday we had as a family ever was Sur Menorca, last year we couldnt get close so we had to stay over in Binnebecca about 3 miles from Punta Prima and it was on par our worst holiday so it just goes to show dont go back again.

Keitha1065 am also looking for a birthday cake has it is my daughters 15 while were there and got to make a lot of it when we were going to the Kos Aqua Beach Club we were going the 10th May so it was the day after her birthday got alsorts planned, then got moved and ended up going the week earlier need to find something for her while were there, so when I get back will let you no how we went on and if poss were to get the cake from.

Hi all.
I have not looked at this site for weeks and with 20 days to go before I have my holiday in PP, I feel like the roof has fallen in and my holiday might be a damp squib !!
By the way, the only contact I have had from FC is a letter saying our return flight times had changed, which was not too bad. No other information at all.

What on earth do I do now ? I am due in PP from the 8-22 May and I dearly hope that FC will not ruin our first foreign holiday ever with our 4 year old son. I was so looking forward to exploring this large holiday village and I now want to talk to my travel agent and see what they recommend. Calm down woman, it cannot be as bad as I think it is. Deep breaths....

I understand they have broken ABTA guidelines etc. (see I have read 30 odd pages on this thread tonight ! ) and Trading Standards think they are in the wrong so how do I approach my travel agent in the morning ?

Any advice anyone ?

caithness7.... i'm sure you will still have a fantastic time even with the tropical closed the palace is still a huge place with alot of great pools
keitha1065 and debora... when we were there in oct our friends little boy turned 8, our friends spoke to the lady at customer relations and they arranged a huge cake for him with his name on and had it taken to the italian retaurant where we were eating that night and the whole room stopped eating to sing to him it was lovely, not sure how much the cake was but i'll ask my friend and get back to you
