I've just bought a tae bo dvd- billy blanks basics- woolworths online 4.99.
really good, my fitness level is zero, but i manage it and its good fun. just got to get the diet started now. :cry:

ValandRob - isn't it odd that a 1lb box of chox can make you gain 5lb :hmmm

Well, I'm off to walk my dog round the park for the second time today, about a mile, then I'm going to have a well deserved glass of Hardys(on special for £2.99 in Tesco) because I'm working all weekend even though its my days off :sulk . Now that I've paid my holiday bill I got to go earn spending money.

Hi gill_mag, spinning is exercises performed purely on an exercise bike to music, unless...... its Jackie's kind of spinning of course, but I think that's called "the whirlie gigs" :lol: :yuck (see few threads back)

Morning Ladies

Just popped in to say hope you all have a good weekend and if you slip off the diets so what; there's always next week. :) We are off out for a meal with friends tonight and then back round the same friends for the day tomorrow on a eating and drinking binge. They are the sort of friends who just need the excuse that it is the weekend (any weekend) to have a get together so I may not be 'compus mentis' until possibly Tuesday.

Anyway ladies relax and enjoy :lol:

somehow i managed to put on 2 lbs while i was asleep!!!
Rob is losing weight quite steadily which i think can be attributed to him cutting out umpteen pints of John Smiths every week!! ( No spinning there then!)

Good luck for the weekend everyone...lets try not to torture ourselves, there is always next week...

I couldnt get on to HT to tell you how i got on wednesday at my weigh in.
I lost 2lb( four blocks of lard)
I have been really good up until now and its been REALLY hard as my dad has come from London for a visit and we would normally go out for a good few lagers but i have resisted :wink: Only because i am off a week on tuesday though or i would have been out like a shot :twisted:
I am only losing what i am going to gain back(and probably more some :roll: )while away, But hey thats life!! (for me anyway)

Keep up the good work everyone.

Spinning is an exercise on a very well equipped cycle. Like Joolz states you exercise on them.
Picture a purpose built cycle that is built to stand all shapes and sizes and stays in one place. There are tensions on the cycle so you make it easy or as hard as you wish when exercising.
Music is bellowing out and you cycle to the rythmn, sitting and standing with some good tension on makes you shattered, yes, but you feel fab when you have done it.
I am convinced it sorted my cellulite out, with my muscles in the legs becoming more stronger and prominent. However though, I have noticed my legs are more larger now due to the muscle gain :cry: but hubby states they are very toned.
Average class lasts for 45 mins but you go at your own pace and sit and slow down when you want.

Love it, cannot get enough of it. I find other equipment at the gym very monotonous (my opinion of course) :wink:

I would personally have all my teeth pulled out then go to a spinning class :) . Once only...never again. If you have short legs it is mighty uncomfortable and, at the end, your nether regions feel battered and bruised. Now, an aerobics class or body toning is more my level. I have been going for years and can now give those 20 somethings a run for their money with full jacks, spotty dogs and such like :lol: I may be a bit fat but I am fit!

Hbrac, the only problem I have with aerobics is the star jumps, don't think I practiced my pelvic floor exercises enough during/after pregnancy :!: :oops:

Hope none of you find the above admission offensive - if so you need to "lighten up" :rofl :rofl :rofl - get it :?: :?: Diets, lighten up, yeah :?: :wink:

N.B all dieters - nothing tastes as good as being thin feels (with the exception of this delightful wine I'm knocking back :glynis )

Hi joolz, love hardys vino (actually love most vinos). Am supping blue lagoon as I type.
Kids are back from cubs weekend, did enjoy the break but was missing them by last night.
Went to hamsterly forest yesterday with hubby and dog and walked for 2 1/2 hours,really enjoyed it, feeling it today though, some of it was steep, came back and had a fish lot (hubbys idea) didnt even enjoy it much. Will enjoy bank holiday tomorrow then back on track.

Morning all you summer dieters

Hbrac, spinning - You can wear the proper gear to support the nether regions, such as a gel pad for your seat or the shorts with the support inside them. I did not enjoy my first time, I thought it was solid and I felt shattered afterwards. Perseverance and you crack it. After 3 sessions I understood the moves expected of me and after that it is pure stamina. Sorry you did not enjoy it though :)

Joolz - I prayed for you :cry: and you drank Hardys vino :tut :lol:

Kazee someone up there loves me as your prayers were answered!! Hey, hey, hey for weigh day I lost a whopping 4lbs :D :D :D (but remember haven't lost anything for a while)

Hope paracetemol aren't fattening as I feel I will be requiring quite a few today, I'm a bit delicate :lol:
