Everybody are having a fantastic week, Meerkat you are an inspiration
Went spinning last night really enjoyed myself, cycling tonight in this glorious weather
In 7 weeks I have lost a stone, thought I had lost more, but my muscles are defo weighing heavier, they appeared more toned now. Fatima whitbread has nothing on me now .
Keep up the good work everyone, going to do the tea now
Alsbaby hope you go on ok today at your weigh in, I'm sure you have
Good luck all
kazee xx
Sarah - wow - 3 stone, what a great achievement. That's my next goal. Think I'll go and get the Rosemary Conley book for some inspiration too. Sounds good.
Stick in there bluemax - mint choc digestives sound yummy though, and too hard to resist. You'll work off the calories with the racquet ball.
I HATE it!!!! When i first joined my class after many years of being a yo yo dieter (nothing new there then I must have lost about 11st going up and down) I said it would be a way of life and although i have not got to my target yet(7yrs later ) i still go back. Now exercise that i would never keep up.
I lost 1 and a half lb today (not pleased!!! Doesnt my body know that i really tried hard this week ) Oh well thats another 3 parks of lard i suppose ( 7 altogether now that sounds better than 3 and a half lb )
Keep up the good work everyone.
We will get there in the end.
Kerrie
I must have lost about 11st going up and down
Know exactly what you mean Alsbaby!! Think I've lost then gained the same stone so many times my hips have deja-vu But congrats on the 1.5lb weight loss.
Yeah, I get fed up with same dinners at night too, especially trying to find a meal to suit 5 people.
About the choccie biccies - 7 days without chocolate makes one weak (get it??!!)
Loce your quotes
Alsbaby well done for losing at least you did not put on or stay the same
Congrats all
kind regards
Kazee
ps better go back to cooking our tea

Thanks Joolz - wont help with my weight loss (or lack of it ) but it certainly made me laugh.
Ran round the squash court like an idiot for 45 minutes so hopefully I will have worked some of the biscuits off Cant say I'm looking to my Friday weigh in this week but you never know!
I agree exercise is not my favourite thing and I suppose I haven't done as much lately maybe that's why I have put on this week.
Oh well must keep going. Do begrudge paying £4.95 just to be weighed though and was going to start going to a friends and pay £5 to save for some spending money for a holiday but wonder if we would give up doing that. But as I don't stay for the meeting very often and know pretty much what I am doing (she says) it is worth considering.
Excuse me if i am being completely thick or something..but i don't understand why i weigh less in the middle of the day than i do at the beginning or the end of the day and it doesn't matter how little/much or what i have had to eat..my weight can fluctuate by as much as 3lbs...any explanations would be gratefully recieved as i am a complete doughnut (mmmm doughnuts....) in this subject..
but we know how you feel. You just got to get back on track before next weigh day and don't be deterred. Try going for a couple of power walks to kick start your metabolism again.
After having two "smallish" whiskies and diet lemonade last night after we come home from walking about 2 miles I've decided, as I lay in bed contemplating todays calorie consumption, that I'm going to try no alcohol untill holidays unless its a special occassion.
Be strong everyone - it's mind over platter
for CarrieBMW, ah what a bummer. Not that its any consolation After having two "smallish" whiskies and diet lemonade last night after we come home from walking about 2 miles I've decided, as I lay in bed contemplating todays calorie consumption, that I'm going to try no alcohol untill holidays unless its a special occassion.

Hi Val and Rob - thats a bit of a mystery. I always get weighed in the morning after I've tended to my "ablutions" and before I have breakfast as I'm under the illusion I'll weigh heavier as the day goes on. Do you use the same set of scales each time? I would pick a time that suits you best to get weighed and try to stick to it.
Have a confession though went I went home I stuffed a few squares of chocolate cos I was so fed up. I am back on it today though
Val & Rob the body is a mystery to me sometimes. I can be really good for a week and stay the same or gain and then have a dodgy week and loose.
Let's just do our best no matter how long it takes at least we are trying.
i have a couple of songs and quotes that i think of Zip up Fatty by Bad Manners and Up Up and A weigh from some Disney film or another..
as for all advice, i think i will weigh myself on a set of scales that tells me i am 2 stone lighter than what i actually am and be done with it!!!
Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord My shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles Please no bags And please lift my butt Before it sags.
Please no age spots Please no gray And as for my belly, Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord
For all that you've done.
Five tips for a woman....
1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.
2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.
3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to you.
4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.
5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.
The weight fluctuation 'thing' over short periods of time is less about what you eat and more about what you drink. Most people will find that they weigh least first thing in the morning - without wanting to sound too crude, this is because a pint of wee weighs approx 1lb! So if you want your lightest reading of the day, weigh yourself after that first morning bathroom visit but before you drink anything else and hence while you are still slightly dehydrated from the night before.
In my 20s I had a job that required me to do some 14hr overnight shifts in a night shelter for teenagers and we regularly found that after a busy shift we could weigh up to 7lbs less in the morning! This was entirely due to the fact that a busy shift meant few opportunities to sit down and have a cup of tea much less something to eat and everything to do with the fact that we probably consumed great quantities of coffee to keep us alert through the night. The weight loss was almost entirely the result of being dehydrated and would all be back to normal by the time we began the next shift.
Many women find that immediately prior to their period they have a problem with water retention and this is why, depending on your cycle, you can find that one week you've lost nothing at all despite being careful about what you eat because your carrying around a couple of extra pounds of water and the next week you've suddenly lost 4 or 5lbs, despite indulging yourself, as your period starts and you shed all that extra water.
Coffee is a diuretic - it not only makes you wee more but as part of this it will draw water from the cells in your body too. If you tend to drink a lot of coffee (or any other caffeine rich drink such as cola) in the morning but tail off your consumption as the day wears on this could account for your mid-day 'weight loss'. You've not lost weight - just made yourself dehydrated! Men who are heavy beer drinkers will experience the same thing! In order to process a pint of beer, the body needs more than a pint of water. Hence that dry mouth in the morning after a heavy night on the 'heavy' :-). The ratio is even worse for wine drinkers. As it takes an hour for your body to process each unit of alcohol (half a pint of beer or a 6th of a bottle of wine) the 6 pints of beer per night man is probably still processing the alcohol through his system well into the following morning and unless he is drinking plenty of water to rehydrate his cells, will experience the same 'weight loss' as the morning progresses.
This is the main reason why it is counterproductive to weigh yourself too frequently and why it is important to settle into a routine of weighing yourself at the same time in the day each week. The daily 24hr cycle of dehydrating overnight and then rehydrating over the daytime can account for quite noticeable differences in your apparent weight. The important thing is the long term trend and not the short term daily weight reading. Hence why I threw out the scales and chart my progress in dress sizes dropped!
SM
i'm going to start to pray every evening... starting tonight
do you think he will answer all our prayers theres alot of us out there
good one
lou x
btw my man is all 4 of them in 1 !!!!!!
SM..thanks for all that info..there is certainly alot to take in. Some of it i was slightly aware of..( the pre menstrual bit). Good advice to ditch the scales i think..
Val and Rob - am off to find me some men, don't tell my hubby though.
How have you all got on today??Are we all being good??
I am saving my sins until sunday when i plan to have a drink (hard going until then) Never mind though cos i am going for a chinese banquet on monday to start my hols off as we out on tuesday. CANT WAIT!!!!!!!! :pele. Loads of for me.
I always gain about 10-12lb while away(DH gains about two ) but i am always discusted at the amount i gain until i really think about it (last year i found myself saying "yes i do want chips with my breakfast" and "no i want roast potatoes not the baby boiled ones i can have them anytime" Add this to the dinner, tea and maybe the kebab for supper (if i find a shop ) And last but not least the never ending lagers, I think i am a little cheeky for moaning about what i
gain.
Keep up the good work ladies.
And keep in your heads I WILL BE SLIM! I WILL BE SLIM!!
Kerrie
I have just completed a 9 mile bike ride with hubby, shattered
Been really good only had stir fry for tea had to put some sweet chilli sauce in it to give it a kick nice though change from stodgy pasta.
