I've received a map from 'Yorkshire Family' - thanks again - and have a question for anyone good enough to answer it....
It seems that the issue's about 'security' are only in sections of the complex.
Of the people who have been I would be gratful if you'd post which apartment you stayed in and a comment on if it was good or bad etc
One other question How long does it take to walk from one side of the complex to the other...
Thanks.
Mick (6 days to go).
we stayed in c 69 , right opposite reception, quite secure as all the staff sit on the steps out side all night
check your bathroom window as its only a porthole and mine would not lock at all. also that the safety deposit box is connected to the wall.
dont bother taking cable ties as their is only one patio door. also someone said to put a chair up against door but you only have tiny stools.
i am sure you will be fine and there were no break ins whilst we were there.
A and B are on either side of a small road in side compex. C is a couple of minutes walk.
happy holidays!
we all like to think ''oh our children would never drink alcohol'' but when they are with kids their own age they might let their guard down.
Near to reception is sounding good.
Cheers for the tips - my eldest is 16 and I know he would like to drink LOTS of alcohol !!
thats ok. its a shame when you have these worries b4 you go. and i believe if you take everything you read on these site into account we would never go anywhere. but i do believe fore warned is fore armed!!
Your right about the alchohol and the kids mary. I complained to the rep and said I was confident I could come here self catering and get fed and waterd because no one checked us at all.
There seemed to be a lot of kids wandering around at night with no parents to be seen. I know there was a hangout area for the kids where the wavelength club was but my kids didn't go out of my sight. The kids left to their own devices chucked food in the pools, stuck forkes into lilos and other inflatables that had been left for others to use, on one occasion sunbeds were thrown into the baby pool.

i sincerely hope those of you going soon for the summer are not fretting or worried. Go and have a good time . Im sure everyone will have a story to tell when you return. Don't forget you spf50 for your kids !!!
Me again !!!
I'm a little confused with the map.
I can only see 3 sections on the map i.e.
A - Where the Kids club and creche is
B - Where the reception and International Restaurant is
C - Where the Med and Oriental Restaurant's are
I looked at the map and C9 seems to be right next to the Oriental
Restaurant but you mentioned having to go past reception and the creche to get to it. Am I reading the map wrong.
Thanks again
Mick.
Ive sent you another
Thats about 30 -ve ones and 29+ve ones I've read - I hope to level that out in 3 weeks time when I get back
We have just booked for September 2 adults 2 children and I am excited always wanted to go to Fuerteventura!!
the island is a wonderful place, it is very quiet and you dont get pestered by them blokes with scratch cards. when you go down to the chipmonks, if you sit long enough they will come and take a nut off you.we went on a camel safari up the mountin, that was an experiance, we booked the safari in the camp, it cost us about 115 euros for 2 adults and a kid. that was for the safari park, camels, shows and a buffet
Does anyone know if you can fly with a pot on as my son has just broken his arm?
Someone reassure me please.
We booked this holiday over 12 months before we went, the travel agent said it was 'fab' and 'she'd booked loads of people to go here'. I checked out one website before we went but wasn't that put off, it is a foreign countryafterall and not like the comfort of home. We'd had quite a bad year with appendix ops, chicken pox and work related problems to name but a few so this holiday was something we couldn't wait for. I think i'd already mentioned earlier that the picture of the place was bluetac'd on my kitchen wall for those bad days.
We did have high expectations, we'd not been AI before and we'd paid 3K (including a free child place) which to us is alot of money.... especially when I need a new bathroom (haha)
We were disappointed but...... I would have gone regardless because everyones opinion is different, we'd paid our money and we did meet others who thought it was fab.
The sad thing now is.... we're just looking for our holiday next year and whatever the travel agent throws at me I can't book until Ive checked out this website. (holiday truths did get metioned alot round the pool, that how I found it)
Go, have a good time.... the weather whilst we were there was brill and so much better when you haven't got the hustle and bustle of daily life... no school runs, no asda, no Xbox360... heaven.
yes you can fly with a broken arm (pot on),
a family we went to lanza we broke hers the day before she was due to fly, she got the next flight out.
check with your travel agent to double checkbut you should be fine.
Yorkshire family - I agree everyone is different. We have gone AI a few times now, for one thing its quicker and easier at mealtimes with kids who don't want to wait. We will make the most of it whatever it's like. It is a lot of money and when you work hard and save up all year for it you want to enjoy it.
We had a really excellent holiday last year and so I just hope it can come somewhere near on a par with that. The main thing is if the kids are happy and occupied we will be happy.
We ( 2 single white females with 4 kids of assorted ages from 15 down to 2) are going here on 29th July for a week AI and really looking forward to it, we are looking for some advice from anyone that has been,
can you tell us if there is anything interesting to do around the airport, ie a town of some sort as we are planning on going in when we get kicked out of our room, dumping bags and doing some sight seeing rather than sitting around the pool waiting to go home.
so we need to know if this is worth doing, please help us,
