hi alison. we got married in cyprus on 19h july this year. i wore a big dress from the mori lee collection. i wore a hoop under the dress which helps a geeat deal with the heat and also no material between your legs. i did not feel the heat in my dress, mainly cus we got married at 5pm and by the time we have photos outside it was like 5.40pm. also we were there for a week before hand and you get used to the heat.
dont let it worry you, just enjoy wearing it. and plus if you are having a party when you get back to the UK you will wear it all again!

Does anyone know if a copy of the witnesses passports have to be certified? Or would a photocopy be sufficient? Town Hall has said we need to bring a copy along but havent specified if it needs to be certified. We are getting married in 2 1/2 weeks and I cant believe I havent thought about this one before! Im really excited and cant wait to get over there, good luck to everyone who is getting married soon!
Vicky
i got married on the 31st of july and the photocopies of the witness passports where sufficent for the town hall.
Good Luck and dont worry, everything was wonderful on our day.

My sis in law is getting married in Cyprus in 3wks ( although we fly in 2 )
With the restrictions on hand baggage it appears she is going to have to put her dress in the hold. She was hoping to take it on board ( as a friend did last year for her wedding ) Anyway the size restrictions in place make the case to small for her dress to go into
Im going to email the tour op and double check with the airport as im sure a wedding dress holds no threat to anybody ( except the groom )
I know they will say the restrictions are in place etc but its worth a try.
Any advice or ideas would be much appreciated.
We leave in 13 days so please help x
I know many brides to be worry about this, but everything usually works out fine.
Have a lovely wedding.

just want to say that it was really reassuring to read the good reviews of cdw! My h2b and I are using them for our wedding next year - we have been helped by Sandra who is so helpful!
We are getting married at Peyia Town Hall and then to a taverna for traditional meze. Has anyone on this forum married or been to a wedding there?
Also where are you having your wedding receptions?
We have sort of tailor made the platinum package but as it is so far away I have not even thought about flowers or cakes! So it will be good to hear about what sort you had and the choices - please keep me informed!
Take care,
Nadine
I got married at Peyia in July, its a lovely place heres a link to my photos if you fancy a peek.

im fine cdw replied about alternative trips instead of egypt, however i am a little disappointed because its an extra charge for the rhodes trip. so dont hink i will be doing that. everything else seems ok.
thanks
christine
Helen you looked gorgeous! Your dress is beautiful as are the colours you chose for your bridesmaids and husband!
Peyia does look lovely - am slightly worried about walking down those steps in high heels though!
Can I ask how long the ceremony took and whether you were allowed a reading? Also I see that you had a flutist and guitarist - were you able to choose the song or was it from a list?
furball and lucky - have you chosen where you are having your reception? We have decided on the traditional teverna with traditional dancing but I read a review about the restaurant that said it was awful - am now worried! I have searched the internet and the other reviews seem to be fine - I think it is called Demikritos?
Cheers,
Nadine
Hi Christine just found out from another website that the cruise to Rhodes is going in October ive emailed Cdw and they said they gonna sort something out.But just reading your post and finding out its more expensive than Egypt cruise its dissapointed me to.
Ive been on the louis cruise website to see how much there charging if i book direct with them and for a nice outside cabin is 550.00 for us both well expensive for a 3 day cruise.
Have you heard of Freetime tours they do wedding packages and cruises and they have emailed me to tell me about the Rhodes cruise going, thats when i emailed cdw, but get this there charging 288.00 for inside cabin or 368.00 for an outside cabin for 2 people.I have told Georgia about this quote from freetime tours so see weather she can match.
i know i was disappointed with the cruise being more expensive.
I dont see why we have to pay more than the egypt cruise. also the 5 star accomodation in the elysium, we are already staying in a four star all inclusive so im not sure if there would be any point in going to another hotel when we already have a nice hotel, alos do you know if food and drinks are provided on the cruises???
many thanks christine
ps having reception at the atlandida beach resaturant.
The ceremony took about 10-15mins we didnt have a reading but you could always ask.
We booked the musicans through our wedding planner and they choose the music, to be honest i think they play the same for everyone.
I was also worried about the steps but they were fine and i was in 4inch heels!!!
I havent heard of your restaurant so cant comment sorry
Are you a member of the paphos post? if not ask Kath the admin on here and she can help you get membership
hope you get sorted

It was absolutly lovely, My partner stayed in my mums room the night before the wedding & my mum stayed with me, we woke up the morning of the wedding & it was really relaxed i had my hair & my nails done then the wedding co ordinater turned up at 12pm with the flowers, my partner & his parents got picked up at 12:35 & then once they'd gone i went, we got married at yereskipou town hall which was lovely. We've never been so hot in all our lives but it was fantastic, after all the photos we went to a restaurant called oleaestro which was near to the avanti village where we were staying the food was also fantastic & we couldn't of asked for anything better. We then went over to the avanti hotel just for a few drinks as we could use there hotel but ended up staying all night & shared the night with another wedding. We had an absoultly fantastic wedding & holiday i just want to say to everyone who's getting married enjoy every second of it as it goes so quickly & good luck to you all.
By the way anybody worrying about there dress going into the hold mine was fine & because it goes through as fragile it was the first to come off.
stacey
Stacey06 Sounds like you had fantastic time. Cant wait for sis in laws wedding there are only 3 of us who got to see the dress and its stunning ( she be pleased to hear your dress was ok as thats the one thing she worrying bout )
Once you get sorted im sure evryone would love to see photos.
Congratulations xxx
Congratulations, it sounds fantastic - glad everything went OK for you and your new husband!
Can I just ask a couple of questions if you dont mind?
What time of day did you get married - I'm worried as I think mine is at 12.30 and was hoping for slightly later - don't know what to do with guests all day and then into eve if wedding is too early!
I too am getting married at Yeroskipou Town Hall, did you have the ceremony outside? and did you pick this bit once you were out there or organise it beforehand?
Also when you say your dress went in the hold, how was it packed - I have been given extra luggage allowance and plan to just fill up an extra case with wedding stuff, I'm not too worried about it just handy to know what others have done.
Thanks for your help, lovely to speak to someone who's been there dand done it!
Sam
Thanks for all of the help and advice which you have offered over the past year and good luck to all of the brides planning their weddings
Love Nicola
