I think the trick with airline food is never to expect much and then you are not disappointed. It's there basicaly to break up the flight time, keeps the passengers quiet for a wee while. It's not a pain to go four hours without a meal so anything you get is a bonus. We flew with Globespan last year to Croatia, no meals just nuts and crisps which you had to pay for, not a problem. We'll give the kids something at the airport before we go and then a snack and a drink of juice is fine on the flight.
Could be worse, I flew with Air Egypt a few years ago to Nigeria and I was veggie at that time, the meal was chicken and rice, for mine they just took out the chicken!!.
I'm not moaning, we got good cheap flights in peak season, if I wanted first class food I'd of had to pay double the ticket price.
