I have to agree with Darren, normal SC is excellent, and not really worth the £250 to upgrade to a seat with 3" legroom but not a wider seat, which would make a difference.

Its so good in fact I have just booked again to the Maldives saving £590 not upgrading to SC premier.

24 hrs to go just finished packing and I think a couple of cases are over by 3-4 kilo's. can you kind folks please remind us how the allownace works.

If 3 are travelling and it says 20kg each is that total, so if the combined weight is under 60kg are we ok or is it 20kg each and no more.

Also just noticed on our invoice we have been charged 2 x £10 for excess baggage, is this normal and if so would that cover us.

Thanks

bigbaddad,

If there are 3 of you travelling together, then your total combined luggage allowance for the hold is 60kg (ie 3x 20kg). Each individual case should be no more than 32kg, but as long as your total is no more than 60kg, then you're fine.

Did you request or pre-book any extra luggage allowance? If so, I can't understand why you've been charged 2x £10 for excess baggage when you haven't even checked in yet. You can't be charged for excess when your cases have even been weighted!

Flying Star Class Premier to Kenya in 3 weeks. I have just got my tickets and they state that the maximum weight for one item of luggage is 23kg. This is a big drop from 32kg as I thought that was the normal maximum with most airlines. This more or less forces you to take 3 suitcases if you want to make use of the 30kg allowance per person. In a way it also reduces your allowance because you have extra weight with the 3rd case before you put anything in it to take into account. Not too happy about this !

Beegee,
I think 23kg is soon to be the new standard weight for a item of baggage that a baggage handler will lift.

Beegee - ours said this and apparantly its changing in May - I called them to make sure we are still allowed the 30kg and they said we are, so you should be too

Thanks Emma, I will call them tomorrow, hopefully it will apply to us as well.

Called First Choice and they confirmed the 23kg limit per item is definitely in force at this moment for all flights. Looks like I have to get a third case !! :?

Hi Dazbo,

We've booked a flight to Dalaman on 21st June. We've never flown with First Choice before but I take it it'll be a bog standard plane, nothing much different to the others? (Apart from departing from Terminal 2)??

Any info appreciated.

Neets36,

You're flying from MAN since you say T2? They use Boeing 757-200's which are pretty much standard, no different than anyone else really. 28" seat pitch and ceiling mounted IFE. I flew with them 3 times last year on all their aircraft types, and will be doing in 5 weeks time. FCA are a decent charter airline in my opinion.

Have a great time in Turkey,

Can anyone tell me what the 'pampering pack' consists of in FCA Star Class?

We are travelling on FCA036 Manchester to Cancun on 25-02-07, departing 09.15

Many Thanks

Cadge,

The pampering kit consists of ear phones for the IFE, ear plugs, blindfold, a pair of flight socks, tissues, toothpaste and toothbrush. I'm flying with them to Puerto Vallarta in a few weeks. FCA really are first choice when it comes to long haul charters at the moment.

Have a great holiday,
