I have a vague recollection that the season before last, one of the shacks we use on-and-off (and has been in business since at least 2002) didn't get a licence but he applied to the local authorities and was granted a licence.

Maybe my memory is flawed though.

Perish the thought :rofl but I can confirm that you are correct.

The shack we use at Calangute did exactly the same thing. Seem to remember being told that 60-70 got away with this..............almost exactly the same number that this current row started over (the extra shacks turned down at the start)

I wonder why you
Perish the thought
that even though there is all this fuss and palaver over shack licences, there is an obvious loophole that lets the 'losers' continue in business.

Perish the thought that I should be aggreeing with you for once! :rofl

Really, johnnyfive?
And what have I done to upset you so much? :que
Apart from maybe disagreeing with you and your cronies?

And I thought you were such a nice guy, too.

But still, have a:
Big hug Johnny five!

Humour my dear, isnt that what :rofl after a sentence is meant to denote?

I do not have cronies, by the way, I have followers! :rofl
(this is an example of :rofl used to denote humourous content)

And I am a nice guy, some of the time, but be careful with the hugs or you will make Spaldy jealous.

Just to show I can join in, my dear :rofl :rofl :rofl

Spoke to our shackowner this morning, now going to the high court so will be another 15 days, although they have a few sunbeds and umbrellas out. I expect soon they will all get fed up and erect their shacks anyway.

So Johnny Five, join us on the beach at Candolim with your coolie box, and honey/lemon curd sandwiches. :sun2

Just curious how this fits in with the link provided earlier (which for some reason I can't open now :que ).

Who's going to the High Court?
Just your shack owner?
Or the ones with ten years experience?
Or those with 6 to 9 years experience?
Or those with 1 to 5 years experience?
All of the above?

I can't imagine it will be the new applicants.

Can't open the url either.

The whole shack saga is going to the High Court - what a waste of time and money.

Mrs. Twn is a Johnny five follower of fashion. :cheers

Another 15 days won't make any difference, lashing it down here! It's like the Mandovi river going up to Calangute!! :(

As of 15 mins ago, it was raining as hard as monsoon downpours, power out in Siolim for the umpteenth time today.

The news article did state "interim order" from the High Court, so it does infer further deliberations?

Spaldy you cant be one of my followers as I have been accused by PM (cowardly approach) of being one of your cronies!

twm, I'm a "dedicated follower of fashion............."They seek him here, they seek him there, in Candolim, and Mapusa Square (etc)

Now wait for the moaners.......

Who's O/H works nights, Spaldy?

For the record, I have not PM'd johnnyfive at any point during my membership within HT - so spill the beans - who DID PM you and 'accuse Spaldy'
of being one of your cronies!

I'm sure the mods will be able to check who it is.
