Hi flying from manchester to hurghada on the 17th december TCX608K, coming back TCX608L, what plane is this likely to be???
Thanks
It's a little early to be 100% sure, but I would expect MAN-HRG-MAN (TCX608K/L) in winter 10/11 to be operated by a Boeing 757-200. We can confirm things for you in November. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
Darren
Thomas Cooks Boeing 767-31K/ER G-TCCA has just returned to service after having 11ft winglets fitted to each wing. This will give a fuel saving of up to 6.5% and make her look a mean machine.

G-DAJC is off to AUH tonight to have them done too.......
as you know following my previous post, i am off to cayo coco on 14/03/10 from manchester, this weeks flight was massively delayed this sunday (yesterday) taking off at 8.20am today, some 23 hours late- although it was a technical issue and an out of the ordinary one too which clearly had a knock on effect (info from mike bravo and very much appreciated )
do you know which route the aircraft operating tcx174 to cayo coco operates prior to this journey? just so i can check what's what before we head for the airport and be prepared in the event of a delay, athough, god willing we should be just fine
I understand that TCX currently have a problem with adding API to their flights to Cancun and Vegas, which is causing high call volumes. I also need to add API but having tried for the past month have given up and will provide it at check in. I received my tickets today and have a problem with Your Seat Your Choice and need to speak to the airline quickly but have been unable to get through all day - you get a long pre-recorded message followed by 'all our operators are busy' then get cut off! Does anyone have a number other than 08448550515 for Thomas Cook Airlines?
Will both (G-TCCA & G-DAJC) of the Thomas Cook Boeing 767's be upgraded to the new Personal Seatback Inflight Entertainment for Long Haul flights sometime within the next few months, ready for the busy Summer Season?
Also I understand that Monarch Airlines have a Boeing 767 which is on a lease from Thomas Cook which is G-DIMB, which is ex My Travel/Airtours, but due to the merger it is now owned by Thomas Cook, I think. When will that Boeing 767 be returned to Thomas Cook from Monarch or have they extended their lease with them???
G-DIMB is returning from Monarch in May approx, to be re registered to G-TCCB.
None of these will be having seat back IFE installed, the a/c are only down to fly short haul all Summer from MAN.
Re doing the IFE would be a massive cost, at a time when it makes no sense to......
Will G-DIMB (which will be G-TCCB when it returns from Monarch in the Summer) be fitted with the new Winglets like what G-TCCA and G-DAJC will have? Also, will it be fitted with those Dark Purple/Blue leather seats that Thomas Cook already have fitted on their other 2 767's?
Winglets will be fitted in winter as no time to fit this in before summer.......interior wil be navy blue....not sure what MON have doen to the interior in the 3 yrs they have had the a/c.
The inbound flight for TCX174K/L is normally TCX034K/L (Calgary) or TCX076K/L (Barbados when they're doing cruise charters).

cazzholly,
Thanks darren
Thanks Darren, it wasn't a cheap number I was necessarily after, just one that they'll actually answer!
The usual question, could you please let me know what aircraft it is likely to be please.
Many thanks

JillC wrote "Would anybody be able to tell me exactly what the your seat your choice with Thomas Cook means? Basically, we have booked this option at a cost of £20pp when we fly to Florida in May. I thought that this would mean that we would be able to go online and choose our actual seats on the aircraft.
When I tried to do this the other day, the Thomas Cook flights website wanted an extra £115 - I was confused so rang our local TC branch, who I booked the holiday with. They said that the £20 was only to guarantee seats together and not to book the actual seats we wanted - we would now have to pay again to choose the actual seats we want.
Is this correct? How can it be called your seat your choice when I am getting no choice at all? Also, is there another option I could have booked in order to prebook the actual seats on the plane?
I am going in to see them about this next week, so any help would be appreciated.
This happened to me too. On enquring with TC Airlines customer services desk I was told that yourseat your way allows you to sit together; and to book seats together once these are released x amount of time before flight (sorry dont know dates) at no extra cost. If you have book Your seats your way as part of your holiday booking you will need to phone TC customer services to book your seats. If you book via the TC Airlines website then they will chage you for your seat your way PLUS an additional advance booking fee. I booked via TC Airlines and paid again then asked TC Customer services to remove Your seat your way from the invoice. I was also advised that if flying to SFB that I could do online checkin later in the year.
The systems are a bit mad, if you make any changes to an Orlando booking it will recalibrate your costs based on the date that you make the booking amendment. Make sure you look out for this before you hang up.

Similar thing happened to us last year when flying to Egypt. We had booked "Your Seat Your Choice" at a cost of £20pp (I think) but wanted to book the extra lagroom seats, which cost £50pp. The airline booked and charged us £50pp for the extra legroom, and reimbursed us with the £20pp for the "Your Seat Your Choice"
