just returned from a week onboard this ship! You will not be dissappointed if you are going on it!
Firstly, the entertainment. As a dancer, this was an important factor when deciding which cruise to go on and i was certaintly not dissapointed! During the day, relaxing by the pool, a band called the "Topmen" band play a large selection of music. They even ask for requests rather than just playing which i thought was really nice. They are a group made up of 5 filipino men and they take suggestions from the passengers for songs and learn new ones every day!
Everyday there is a 2 o'clock quiz. This was always fun, even if we didn't score higher than 100/200!
In the evening, we watched both performances of the shows in the Can Can showlounge. They were amazing. The amount of effort that goes into those shows is immense.
There was always something on to suit everyone, from classical to rock!
The showteam onboard are:
Paul Fisher (Cruise Director)
Daniel Kent (Assistant Cruise Director)
Kate (Dance Captain and Choreographer)
Alex
Paul
Gemma B
Gemma L
Jenny
Angus
Ross
They are all amazing and so friendly!
We tended to not go into the Oklahoma Lounge in the evening as we missed the gameshows due to the 2nd show. However, when we did, it was great fun!
Emma Boyd does a fantastic job and is helped out by Amy, Mark, Ollie and Rachel. A great team!
Nothing much happens on the pool deck at night apart from on the first night there is a sailaway party from Palma until about 1am which is great fun and definately worth it!
Only "problem" was that of the public toilets. I always found that they had a very bad smell everytime I visited them...however the hygiene on the ship is FABULOUS! Sanitisers everywhere and sensor soap and handtowel dispensers.
Overall, a wonderful time had by all! (Just wish it was for another week!)
Currently only got inside 2/3 floor for the 3 of us.
Anyone done this before - If so what upgrade did you get and how much was it. ???
Thank in advance

A couple of questions -
Does the ship carry Barrs Irn-Bru?
and
What bottled beers are normally available?
Thanks in advance
I have yet to meet a cruise ship which stocks Irn-Bru and, as they will know, there is only one...Barrs!! They will enjoy it all the more on return home.
My bar list from March this year is-
Bottled/canned
Heineken,Bud,Guinness,Corona,Becks,Stella,Boddies.
Only the Boddies is free on all inc
Hope this helps and they have a good time
Roll on 30th July
CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE CORRECT ADAPTOR ILL NEED TO CHARGE MY CAMERA ETC-IN STANDARD CABIN.
Hi teff1941
You can use 2 pin round also. Plug found behind the TV up on top shelf. Best bring a small extention lead with you to run it out from the round 2 pin plug behind tv. If its long enough it will reach the dresser for all your power needs. I find the flat 2 pin one, located at the dresser table, does not have enough power.
We ended up getting our hands stuck and not being able to re-plug in our TV!
Best thing to do, is bring an extension lead and plug it in in the corridor outside your cabin. These plugs are high up, near the ceiling and there is usually 1 between every few cabins which is great!
Also - My 220-240v GHD straightners would not work in the cabin, they only worked in the corridor outside.
We provided some entertainment in our corridor every night when we were sat there straightening our hair!
HI THANKS FOR ADVICE ON ADAPTOR IN CABIN.

Cannot comment on the cruise itself, but we were on Costa Fortuna Mid to end March this year on the Transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Italy. The cruise headed into the Caribbean for a week, and then a 5 day crossing from Barbados to Tenerife, next day Madeira, day at sea, Barcelona then Savona to disembark. We had 16 days sunshine, very hot in Caribbean, beautifully hot/warm on the 5 day crossing and Tenerife & Madeira, and into the Med it was a very comfortable 20C on the sea day.
If Destiny route begins from the Caribbean the weather should be at least as good in april.
Thanks
You can ask your TA to X reference the bookings but probably the easiest thing is to go and see the Restaurant Manager when you get on board. I have never found a problem in changing a table once I am on board.
Yeah there are allocated times when the Restaurant Maitre D' is available to sort out table bookings. So best thing to do is pop along to one of these sessions and explain, and they can usually put you all together
Thanks for your help, thought there would be a way to all sit together. Will wait till we're all aboard then sort it out.
Just wondering if anyone can help us in cabin choice. We've just spoken to people who've just returned from Destiny and said they felt some noise and motion on deck 3,as we've booked for deck 2/3 wondering if we should choose cabin number on deck 3 to get away from noise, or upgrade to deck 4/5. They also said alot of cabins on deck 2 were for crew which means the likelyhood of us getting a cabin on deck 2 are minimal are they not? Hope someone can help my queries, thenks.
