yet again this year ive gone with "insure and go" for two adults and two kids (single trip europe) my youngest as epilepsy and with that included its only cost us £43 for us all.
The results from my thyroid test were normal, so do I just mention that I had a test and it was normal or do I not say anything? Thanks
You probably don't need to declare it as there's nothing to cover. However you have nothing to lose by mentioning it as I don't think it will affect the premium. Some companies are more fussy about what you declare than others, but I would expect most of them to say they don't need to know.
Hi, I just spoke to Insure and Go - firstly Customer Services who could not help me and said I need to speak to the sales team as I would need a full `medical screening`, so then spoke to a bloke in the sales team, gave him my policy details etc and advised him that I had recently had a blood test for underactive thyroid and the results were normal. He said as it was clear and not newly diagnosed then our policy would be automatically renewed. Felt I was passed a bit from pillar to post and don`t even think its been noted anywhere. I do have his name and the time and date of the conversation recorded....just in case!
I have gone over the policy and can't see anything amiss so many thanks to those who recommended this company. By the way there's also a massive 16% cashback on quidco.
thanks tracey
I am looking for holiday insurance for my son and his friend who are both 17. There are six of us going on holiday and four of us have insurance with our bank, but I cant find insurance for the boys because they are not 18. I could probably get it through the travel agent but it was a lot more expensive.
Try Insureandgo.
trasjohno,
Insureandgo cover over 40 activities have a look on this link Page 18 to 21.

Angie.
Have decided to go with insureandgo and take out another insurance for myself which will get the boys free. Travel agent wanted £25 pound each for them. This way I get the three of us from £11 for similar cover.

Also as we are all fortunately in good health with no pre exsisting medical condition, how much cover do we need? Some of the quotes seem to differ dramatically.
its the old adage.. you pays your money and you take your chance.... the only way to tell which is best for you is to read the terms and conditions of each policy, there can be a huge difference between a free insurance an £18 insurance and a £40 insurance.. only YOU can say which is best suited to your circumstances, but whatever you do make sure you have insurance from when when [or the same day] as you purchase your holiday
Totally agree about purchasing the insurance at the time of the holiday, some people don't take it out straight away as they don't want the travel agents, which is fair enough as this is usally expensive and then leave until 'later'. However if the unforseen occurs and the holiday has to be cancelled (and it's an insurable event), you would not be protected if you did not purchase your travel insurance, protection starts when you purchase the travel insurance.
Thanks for the replys, yes i'm sure you do get what you pay for. Think i'd be happier going with someone i've heard of. I'll have another look later, i'm sure i'll end up with one of the quotes thats about average priced.
I use insureango and luckily have not had to make a claim, but I choose the middle of the range product and adjust the excess where I see fit. My major concern is medical (there is nothing wrong with me but my brother was taken seriously ill on holiday out of the blue and once you see that happening you know where your priorities lie and mine are not in replacing a lost camera).
It's worth bearing in mind that most of the insurers are underwritten by only a small number of underwriters so you could be paying more or less for the same policy.
I have always just took out insurance along with the holiday I have booked as a package and just a bit worried that there not as good
See, if your holiday only cost you £2000 why get insurance that covers you for cancellation of £5,000?
The insurance sold by travel agents is generally no more superior to many others on the market, you never know how good it is until you have a claim really.
Before taking the Boots cover I would recommend that you go on to a website such as moneysupermarket - http://www.moneysupermarket.com/travelinsurance/ and compare their prices and level of cover.
I just went on for you and did a quick search for a family of 2 adults and 2 children going to Europe for 2 weeks in August and their starting price (with very good level of cover) was £10.66 for the family.
Obviously you will have to put in the correct dates of birth and destination but the price should remain the same.
If you take more than one holiday a year and that includes breaks in the UK or else where it might be worth considering Annual Insurance.

Thanks ,I used the link and had a look and the only ones that I would trust to use would be like the AA or some other known name as I would be too worried to use a name I had not heard of before especially when I am taking the 2 kids with us.
I will just have to have a think about the boots one or even consider the AA as they were only £38 for all of us,or even better try and get free travel insurance through the TA as a package but don't think they will
