Hi all
Please can someone let me know if you need to buy head phones on Virgin Atlantic planes or are they free.
Thanks
Free, they collect them in at the end of the flight though. The ones they provide in Economy and Premium leave much to be desired and dont cut out much background noise(your own should work from you ipod/mp3 player)
Cheers
On the question of Headphones is the in arm plug a 2pin type adapter as with having hearing problems i use my own headset i cannot remember from my last flight, will be flying Premium Economy 747.
qatarman,
Thank you Darren
Does anyone know if the new Virgin route from manchester to las vegas that begins next april is going to be on new 747 planes or will they be the same ones that are used for the vegas route from london? These are widely talked about as being not very clever so would appreciate any info on the new manc route!
Thanks
Which routes (flight numbers) are you looking at? VS085/6 are showing as a Boeing 747-400 in April. The Boeing 747-400 are the current aircraft in the LGW/MAN suite, they aren't new. The new Airbus A330-300 will be used on selected routes once they're delivered commencing April 2011. The Airbus A330-300 is a very nice aircraft. I wouldn't listen too much to the rumours until prople have had chance to try them with Virgins interior.

Hi Darren, yeah those are the the routes, i did read that it was to be serviced by 747's, i just hoped it wasnt the same ones used for down south. I think i'll wait to hear a few opinions next year when the flight begins to operate!
thanks in advance
That's not a bad price, I've seen them for a lot more than that! Flight prices fluctuate almost daily based on demand so if you feel comfortable paying that, go for it. If not, keep watching the price until you are. The trick is not to look again afterwards!
Darren
£520 is a very good price. Flight prices to Vega next year have increased dramatically and I usually see around £650 quoted.

Phoned Special Assistance 4 weeks ago before booking flights and asked if we could request bulkhead on medical grounds (as we've done before with them) as my 20yr old is autistic, no problem, just ring in 72hrs before flying and we'll sort it out.
Rang as requested yesterday, as it's a sunday no-one from Special Assisyance available and they can't help, ring back 8am monday. Rang at 8am and got through to Special Assistance, short answer is no, they stopped pre-allocation years ago which I said was funny as I have the confirmation emails from our last Virgin flight showing the seat changes. After arguing the point and being told that we can request at check-in (never worked before) I gave up. Rang them again at 11:30 and got someone else, she went away said it should be OK and they would put a note on the system (which previous call was supposed to have done) but, not guaranteed and we will have to ask on check-in
Should have known better really, we did say that we would never fly Virgin again after the last flights, seats too narrow to fit in, appaling food, 150ml spft drinks and I ended up with 10" bruises on both hips after the return flight from being jammed into a fixed armrest seat, was told either sit there or get off, my choice!.
were looking to book flights with virgin from manchester to orlando, as my hubby is six foot four we always go with thomas cook premium, now we have been informed that they will only do premium for flight coming home, something to do with the tax they are introducing, so could you tell me if you know if the seat pitch is any good and do you know of any airline that have bigger seat pitches, i really dont want to pay virgins premium prices as their rather pricey
many thanks
elcome onboard
Virgin have 31" seat pitch in economy, 38" in premium economy and 79.5" in Upper Class on the Boeing 747-400's. Most schedule airlines offer larger seat pitches in their higher class seats, eg premium economy and business class, but you'll pay a lot more for them. Thomas cook odder 33" in economy and 35" in premium economy. As you know though, premium economy is being withdrawn from May 2011. You could always consider extra legroom seating.
