We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

Sunny Beach has a main promenade and lots of surrounding streets full of shops/stalls/restaurants and bars. The shops all sell fake designer gear,C.Ds/DVDs/handbags/clothes/trainers/watches.Most of these were good copies but the prices do vary so shop around. There are also loads of stalls selling silver jewellery which was very reasonably priced. The only problem was the minute you enter a shop they are at the side of you rather than letting you browse!
We tried a few restaurants to escape our hotel food and although the meals were o.k we didn`t find any great ones. They also don`t bring your meals together so one or two of us may have eaten before the other persons arrived!
The promenade is very busy and most bars/restaurants you pass have people outside trying to encourage you in whcih got a bit annoying by the second week. There are also scooters for hire everywhere so watch out for these flying past you!
The resort was generally clean and the beach was lovely. The only entertainment seemed to be duos singing (rather badly) though there were lots of activities for kids such as bungee trampolines/mini golf/fairground rides.
The best day out was at the Aqua park and Khans Tent is well worth a visit.Nezzebar is also well worth a visit, lots of cobbled streets and restaurants overlooking the harbour.
I think Sunny beach has become too commercialised and though it is o.k for a last minute week away it wouldn`t be my choice again for a fortnight away.
P.S beware the flying beetles that come out at night time along the promenade!

Sunny Beach is a purpose built resort and was very busy when we were there. It is full of small shops and stalls selling predominantly the same things, cheap fake designer clothes, trainers, DVD's etc. There are many bars and restaurants, and meals and drinks are very cheap compared to UK. Although the resort was busy most bars and restaurants had plenty of room, in fact virtually all of them have somebody on the street trying to entice you in.
If you want noisy vibrant clubs and bars you will find them, or if you want quiet sedate bars you will find them. We enjoyed a few relaxing drinks at night at bars right on the beach. There are bouncy castles & slides for the kids, a couple of small fairground rides and other stuff for the kids. There is the bungee type stuff for adults.
I would recommend a trip to the nearby aquapark, we had a great day there. Do not use any of the many "Exchange" booths to change your money, they are rip off merchants. We twice saw people who had got done.
I would visit again, especially with children, but if you are after a resort with a bit of culture and history this is not for you.

Sunny Beach. Quite impressed with resort. Good cheap eateries. Beach could be cleaner but very good, nice breeze from the middle of the day. Hope resort does not get too big, a lot of new buildings going up. Would return.

First visit to Bulgaria - Sunny Beach is a paradise for famalies. Very safe environment - loads to do - there's something for everyone. Lovely bars and restuarants. You won't get round them all on your first visit. New Waterpark is a must - 24 Levs (approx£8) for the whole day - brilliant value for money. Not to be missed...Park was immaculately clean, great facilities and the rides esp Kamikaze were brill!!!
Lovely sandy Beach, crystal clear water - excellent water sports - 'very' reasonably priced. We will defintely return to Sunny Beach.

Very clean resort.
Shop til you drop, lots of fake designer shoes, bags, t-shirts take extra bag to bring it all home in.
Lots of bouncy castles, trampolines, childrens fairground rides along the front and in the centre so the children will never be bored.
Beach very clean, the only disadvantage you could not put your own umbrella in the pay zone areas on the beach.

Sunnybeach was a really good destination for our holidays, we can recomend it highly. The beach is large and clean, the sea is warm with lots of activities. The shops have lots of cheap clothes and foot wear.A must is the market for bargains.Excellent place for all ages.
We recomend going to the Aqua Park, Khans Tent, Nessebar,Lazy days cruise and especially the beach party with Rupert, Emily,Lina and Stina, lots of fun and drinking games in and out of sea. Children are welcome as well my 12 year old daughter thought it was fun.

Lively resort which is better suited to the 18-30 age group. Vast choice of bars offering happy hour cocktails virtually all night. Lots of discos to choose from too. If you like peace and quiet, do not go to Sunny Beach!
The beach is fantastic and is perfect for sun worshippers. There are water sports available and boat trips for the less adventurous.
Nessebur is only a short bus journey away which is definitely worth a visit. Take the bus as it's much cheaper than a taxi.
If you like Benidorm, you will love Sunny Beach.

Sunny Beach itself wasn't too bad especially the southern part of the resort but the beach was very crowded. Food etc was good and very cheap. I reckon Sunny Beach is turning a bit into an 18 - 30 resort though there were plenty of families there. The resort entertainment seemed more geared up for the younger holiday maker ie 18 - 25 - there were lots of discos/karioke bars but there were also plenty of family bars/restaurants. The street markets were ok but sold mainly imitation football shirts/designer stuff - it wasn't easy to find a shop/stall that sold typical Bulgarian crafts/souveneirs. Because we cut short our holiday, we didn't really get a chance to get on the beach though it was very crowded. I would go back to Bulgaria but definietly not on an AOA basis and definitely to a quieter location.
