We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby

Sunny beach is nice. it has a long golden beach with row upon row of sun beds. In the town you have almost 250 bars so finding one you like is easy. We seemed to be drawn to Neptunes bar which is on the front had really nice Baguettes during the day, beer is cheap so shop around cheapest we found was .89l about 35p for a pint!!!! This was in a bar just off the main street on a place called "the street of Art". If you are fancy a fun trip take a journey on the local bus service to Nessebar its 1 leve (about 45p) full of people just be carefull as there is a lot of pick pockets and beggars.
All in all sunny beach and Mena palace was ok, the resort has a lot of germans so be prepared!!!

Hi - after my fourth year I still love Sunny Beach. Had a great time. Think maybe this year they are starting to cater more so for the young crowd, though only in the central area. Still lots to do for everyone. Yes, it's loud and brash but it is good fun which is what I go away for! Roll on next year :)

We stayed in Sunny Beach. This resort was very clean. Beach was cleared of rubbish on a daily basis. (although we could all help by taking our rubbish away or using bins provided.) There was a lot of activities on the beach, jet skis, parachuting etc. Most of the resort is open 24 hours. There are several mini golf courses, numerous bars and restaurants (too many to count)but lots of varities. (Make sure you ask for your food to be well cooked). There are hundreds of small shops selling clothes, shoes, bags, and souviners (many locally made). Try to haggle if you can. The buses run regularly and are very cheap. I would highly recommend Sunny Beach for a holiday. Try to get to Vagabond restaurant. Excellent food and service.

Sunny Beach is hustle and bustle the beach is covered in fag ends so we didnt even stay on it not very nice for kids is it. Real shame to be honest because the sand was lovely and golden.
We found it very costly than expected unless you walk right up to the Turkish Market area which was cheaper. Hubby got a pint for 70p but then the cola was £2 and my drink was £3 so didnt really work for us im afraid. Overall the prices are not that cheap anymore i think they are realising that they can make more from us!
Everywhere we went people on bikes and mopeds beeping all the time behind us and also horse and carts, you constantly had to watch behind you incase they were there.
Snakes, iguanas and even baby crocodiles with mouths cellotaped were on show and contantly pushed at the kids for photos, so cruel. We ate on "The Ship" and had 4 cheesburgers and chips with four cokes and 2 puddings for £28 these were classed as bar snacks as well!
I wanted a magazine to read just the normal ones like back home were £6 and £7 no way was i paying that! hubby said they are imported thats why but i have never been abroad and paid that amount for them.
In most places they would give the kids a bottle of coke and a glass which was great but hubby saw some bars just opening the bottle and filling the little glass full then keeping the bottle perhaps for the next customer?! which would explain why son kept complaining it was flat. I wouldnt go back to sunny beach as it was too busy and money grabbing for us as a family, i would perhaps go back if were all inclusive in a hotel with entertainment, then wouldnt have to go out at night as much.

Firstly you will be amazed how big sunny beach actually is, it's huge.
The vast majority is very clean and tidy. A few areas needing the kerbing repaired and roads a little bumpy, but lets not split hairs.
I was also surprised at the amount of very strong English speaking Bulgarians. They were all very polite and friendly.
Food quality is excellent. Far too many places promote themsleves as steak houses, there was a number of chinese, but we only found one Indian, underneath the crane used for bungee jumps, and it was really good!
On average a large good quality fillet steak meal would cost around 25Lev. Meat quality was excellent and we had steak nearly every night. Forest Hut and HC Andersons I would strongly recommend for steaks and HC Andersons for breakfast as they import real British sausage, bacon, Heinz beans and HP sauce etc. Breakfast was 11Lev.
Pizza was always good quality and 10" pizza would only cost from about 6lev from a restaurant
Of all the food we ate I can honestly say the food quality was superb and I'm fussy. Use a little common sense and eat in places that look good. There really is thousands to choose from, but as I say too many steakhouses. A bit more variety would have been nice.
Resort entertainment needs a little work. It's not bad, but could be better.
There were too many singers in bars and restaurants that were not of a high enough standard.
If Karaoke is your thing. plenty to choose from.
Numerous night clubs(I've gave up with them)one charging 15Lev entry and free local drink all night!
Loads of bars to choose from and the music type is varied to some extent, focusing too much on dance for me.
Don't get me wrong, you will always find something worth doing at night. I was there for a week and it was not enough. The place is huge and you can't possibly see it all.
During the day there was bikes to hire, electric mopeds and golf buggies etc to tour around in.
Loads of crazy golf courses and the swimming park looked great with all the big flumes.
Drink is very cheap. In the busier parts 1Lev is the normal for a beer, that's 43 pence at my exchange rate, and goes as low as 0.79Lev.
They love cocktails and it's nearly always 2 for 1 and I lost count of the free drink handed out.
For all the cheap drink there was no trouble out there. There was not the usually endless amounts of drunken louts wanting to fight or just causing a nusiance of themselves. Behaviour of tourists was excellent.
The beach went on for miles and was very clean, as was the sea. All the usually beach activites, paragliding, hire jet skis, bananaboat etc.
Shopping is a bit odd. Everthing is fake. They are usually far better quality fakes than you buy in this country, but not for me. Premium brand name fake polo shirts were only about 20Lev, 15Lev for t shirts.
All in all the people are nice, the food is good, the drink is good, the weather is good, the beach is good and it's very cheap.
I'd go back again without a doubt
