We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

What a tacky resort. Noisy rides along the promenade. Concrete jungle created by developers. Absolutely no character with 'boom boom' music belting out, crowds pushing and shoving and the most dull and sullen people I have ever met. (Bulgarians) I thought these people would have been similar to the turkish but what a contrast. They were rude and had no desire to make you want to return to their country. We encountered 'rip off' taxi drivers who actually followed us in to a gypsy night to whisper something to the waiter who in turn looked across at us which made us very nervous. Sunny Beach may have been the name but Sunny Blackpool springs to mind. The only positive thing I could say would be the stunning beach and the beautiful little village a few miles away called Nessebar.

Sunny Beach is a great place for a family, and there were plenty of night spots if thats your thing! Really cheap for everything, but the quality of food & drink is still really high. The water park was great fun, and we enjoyed the boat trip to Nessebar, which is a lovely place, although you can just as easily go by bus.

the resort was like hell on earth people trying to pull you into shop to buy rubbish goods, dirty under foot and like a war zone at night!not many people went out at night and if they did they were home before 10.30 to 11.00pm.

The resort was fairly clean with shopkeepers sweeping up outside on a regular basis. Its packed with bars and reataurants and some good live bands. There is a bar/restaurant next door to an Irish bar which is a great night out. The food is great and the live band (snowdogs) are fantastic. The beach is clean but I have only given it 1 as one of the lifeguards was asleep as we walked past and I have never seen so many jellyfish or as big in my life.

Although we enjoyed holiday if came back would prob be for just 1 week. food and drink is eally cheap so thats good. not many trips that interested us tho. we went to khans tent as we heard it was good but il just say if your a young couple dont waste your money. only thing that was little annoying was fact that in most pubs you had to pay to use toilet but least this meant toilets were clean.

1st time to Bulgaria.
Didn't encounter any of the reports of pickpockets & etc. at all. Maybe just lucky - don't know.
Found Bulgarians very helpful - absolutely no need to learn any of the language as they are so switched-on to English and other languages, putting us to shame.
Beach was spotlessly clean - in the mornings anyway! Beds/parasols were good (area south of central pier). Sea was crystal clear - some jelly fish some days.
Plenty of shops for essentials (snacks/water/beer/wine). Night-time pretty lively - choice of types of venues dependant on age/tastes. The place is huge - don't think you can explore it all. Plenty of other shops - fake goods & etc.
Only did day trip to Nessebar - good for a day out and bet it's a great place for a romantic evening meal - overlooking harbour/sea and all that jazz! Didn't explore Bulgaria any further - lazy!
No complaints. Not much more to say really.

Resort clean enough, locals always sweeping up. Loads of bars, kids very welcome. Always "happy hours" on. Loads of shops selling named stuff all really really cheap. We couldn't spend our money! Loads of restaurants, so so cheap. Beach massive and well maintained with bars right on the beach. Nessebur also very nice. We visited one evening, its lovely with the cobbled streets and bars and restaurants. Would recommend going to Welcome Meeting if your first visit as they tell you where to go and what to watch out for, very informative. Definitely going back for 2 weeks next year. Already booked.

The resort of Sunny Beach has change greatly over the 6 years that we've visited, not always for the better though as the beach used to be cleaned every evening, but now the sun beds are left out along with the sunbathers rubbish, often resulting in the tide washing this rubbish into the sea, what a shame. Some of the old shops and bars are still there with new being built around them, so the place was still familiar. What we did notice was that alot of apartments are popping up on the edge of the resort, originally sunflower fields. Look out for Ali Ba Ba the magician, real old style and fantastic!!! Nessebar is always a favourite place to visit either by boat or bus, it is now cheaper to shop at Nessebar than Sunny Beach, but all in all the resort is great value.
