All rooms are good, but the pool side is best. the hotel food is very good and has a great choice to choose from.

We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

Keep away please.
No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby

I have just returned from Sunny Beach (Friday 21st), and i was shocked at the way the Bulgarians treated us English, for one instance we were on the beach, we weren't planning on staying there because of the jelly fish, (but thats another story), anyway I put my bag down on a sunlounger while my 7 year old son was playing in the sand, my husband had just gone the shop to buy ice-creams when out of the blue this man come up to me and started saying, 20lev, 20lev, so I said what for, to which he replied 2 beds and umbrella, so I said, no I am going now I am not staying, he came right up to my face and said NO CORRECT YOU PAY 20 LEV NOW, and he stood in front of me together with this other fella and they wouldn't let me check on my son, so I said move I want to see my son, and to which he replied YOU PAY 20 LEV and I'll go, so I ended up paying it just to be left alone, so they are just bullies.
Then in Macdonalds only I went in give my order then changed my mind, said I was sorry and asked nicely if I could change it, and all's he kept saying was NO, I CAN'T CHANGE IT NOW, YOU PAY..so I had to pay and then buy the stuff I wanted, so be careful what you order.
It does sound like I had a bad time there but I did have a good hol met loads of nice people there as well, got a tattoo as well while I was there. I will be putting some info on the forum when I get more time.

Woyld definately go to Bulgaria again! 36p a pint, cant go wrong. 6 of us ate out and got 2 pints each, the meal came to £20. I would recommend the water park, its a tenner in and excellent for all the family.

First time visitors and last. Sunny Beach is reportedly a blue flag beach. The quality of the water is poor compared to Turkey, Tenerife etc. The number of Jellyfish present was staggering and loads of people were stung on our 1 and only visit to the beach. Lots of good restaurants to choose from but very little in the way off entertainment for families, other than the fairground style amusement rides all along the prom. Watch out for the pickpockets aswell, you see them gathering on the prom to select targets, but as soon as you make it known that you have them tagged they will leave well alone. Please do not entertain the people with snakes and crocodiles for photo opportunities. All have there mouths sellotaped up.

tourists left rubbish every where on a night but by morning it was all took away. Beaches were also cleaned every night. We went jet skiing and parasailing which was alot of fun and cheap.We are looking into going back for 2008.

Our third time to sunny beach and prices creeping up a little now.
Resort mainly clean.
Entertainment well theres plenty for all.

Sunny Beach is fantastic - loads to do, very kid friendly. Excellent beach. Entertainment is ok but for the very best in (worldwide) entertainment go to Khans Tent - absolutely incredible!! Sunny Beach is a very lively and noisy place with a pulse!!

Sunny beach is a great resort.It is much bigger and livlier than we had expected. There are loads of bars and resturants to choose from. Most bars and returants have some entertainment.
The food and drink is really cheap and in most places very nice. We enjoyed eating out in the town centre and on the beach front.
In many bars it is happy hour most of the night. Most drinks are two for one. Local beer is really cheap, about 1.50 lev for a large beer.
One thing that we would really recommend is a trip to the aqua park in nessebar. It was fantastic! There is a bus that you catch from outside the hotel that takes you there, and its free.
Overall we have really enjoyed our holiday and would definitly go back to Sunny Beach.

Sunny Beach is the most popular resort in Bulgaria. Entertainment-wise it is lively at night and is full of bars, restuarants and shops. You literally can fall out of one bar into another. There are several 'erotic' dance bars around which may be a bit unsuitable for younger families passing by, but you will never be struggling for something to do.
The resort had a lack of litter bins, however there was not much rubbish around either.
Sunny Beach did seem to be full of young Scandinavians, most of them on "18-30" trips so it can get rowdy at night. Not that we minded, they were friendly enough.
The beach is the best bit about Sunny Beach, it is clean and the water is crystal clear, the sunbeds cost 6 Lev per day as do the sun umbrellas. You can also have a massage on the beach if you wish. There are oppurtunities to go parasailing and jet-skiing, too.
On the whole Sunny Beach is very good, albeit a little bit too busy, but I would probably go again in the future.

We really enjoyed Bulgaria, it was hot and very cheap however I would not take a family holiday here because Sunny Beach is geared around young groups of people getting very drunk. Sunny Beach town is massive and the markets were great for shopping.
I feel the beach is very packed with sun loungers and when we went to the main beach there were loads of Jelly Fish so we went to Sveti Vlas. There were no Jelly fish on this beach and we eventually found a spare lounger at lunch time.
The Bulgarian people do try and be friendly but we felt that after holidaying in Turkey they really weren't as friendly and nice as the turks. We had one bad experience at a pizza bar near the front where we ordered drinks and asked for a menu, only 2 of the drinks arrived and then when we asked for the others the girl proceeded to walk around taking photos and ignoring our order, this could have been because she didn't understand but we felt that the service here was not brilliant.
