Love Paphos! Plenty of restaraunts to try! Would love to return again to try some more!
The harbour is beautiful.Felt safe around the resort. Just watch out for timeshare touts!
They can pester you quite a bit. Lots of local restaraunts but also KFC, Pizza Express and McDonalds.
The views from KFC and Pizza hut are first class - over looking beach! Look out for the restaraunt on the beach - it was lovely! Bit pricey but very traditional and first class food/service!
Lots to do in resort - bowling, shopping etc. Shops are also open late at night. Went to market in Paphos Town on a sat morning. It was lovely watching the locals.
The beach was nice. It wasn't a massive beach - but my husband and I aren't really beach people. Went to Coral bay for the day - lovely beach there. Buses are regular and were quite cheap.
Felt very home in Paphos - could get very used to it! People very friendly. Look out for all menu offers in the restaraunts - there are loads of reasonable set menus which are of good value.
Our favourite bar was Nature bar -lovely cocktails and lunch menu - with a great sun trap terrace. We were regulars there most lunch times and we noticed that we were not the only regulars!
For trips - there are loads of agents in the town offering some good deals. We went to the Troodos mountains - had a lovely day there.
Paphos is a lovely resort - would love to go back sometime!

Plenty of places to visit, we really liked the Red Lion, next to the Robin Hood. Paul and Karen have just took over there. Such a great crowd going there.
So friendly and good beer too. Please say hello from Stuart and Mary. And mention the Zulu act!
Loads of good eating places for all tastes. Really good resort.

Paphos as a resort is continually growing with new hotels seemingly springing up all of the time and/or being refurbished..Paphos seems to have an upmarket image and does have some lovely upmarket restaurants such as Cavalinni's, Chloe's and a Taste of India as examples..there is a slightly tacky side to the resort in the Bar Street area which is more reminscent of Ayia Napa and perhaps not very savoury..in fact, I'd say the nightlife area in Ayia Napa looks more classy! However, in the winter months, it is definitely a quiet resort with some places not even opening and more geared up to the older generation who may stay there for a few months. The resort certainly seemed to be clean apart from where there are roadworks or building sites.Resort entertainment seems to cater well for different groups, if you like to eat out there is plenty of variety and for all budgets..there is plenty og hotel based entertainment too and there is the Bar St although most of it appeared to be closed at this time of year. Beaches in Paphos are mainly imported sand and you have to go outside of the main resort area to find natural sandy baeaches although the larger hotels do import sand and get rid of the rocky areas and build breakwaters to keep the imported sand!Having now been to Cyprus 4 times, we do like the island and prefer Paphos to Limassol as Paphos is more of a compact resort..we would go back if we could get a good deal in the winter months ...there is plenty of development on the island and huge areas are being covered by new villas and apartments, Paphos airport is also being extended at the moment.

Having visited Pathos several times now we were disappointed that there is still an abundance of litter on the streets not to mention in the surrounding area, dumped cars. The pavemts still need a lot of work on them and being disabled are quite a hazard.
As for entertainment you really have to look around for it. Mostly a Traditional Greek theme seems to be the mainstay. Although there are the usual Kariokes if you want to do your stuff.
The Hotel beach is excellent as is the municipal beach if you don't mind the traffic noise that is.
Wouls we visit Pathos again. Most certainly. In fact we shall probably go in October when the children have gone back to school.
Note my Resort ratings do not in any way reflect those of the Ledra Beach Hotel which are excellent.

whilst paphos is clean and tidy, you tend to get bored easily with the lack of variety in shops.mosaics are a must, also the tomb of kings.when photographed, look after your camera

Pathian sun (alias Butlins)is no way 4 suns 2 suns maximum.
our room 15H was so uncomfortable to sleep in as the beds were rock solid the sofa in the so called lounge was even more uncomfortable to sit on.
We paid an extra 10 euros per night for a superior room for last 4 nights even this wasnt much above basic except it had a sea view.
The hotel bar area was small, seating for about 40 persons drinks served in plastic beakers and hot drinks served in polystyrene cups, restaurant more like canteen as far as seating concerned, this holiday was a total waste of money.

Paphos is a very pleasant resort with a nice harbour area to walk along. Don't miss the archaeological site with the mosaics if you are into ruins. We can also highly recommend trips to Kourion and to Kyrenia in N.Cyprus. There are loads of restaurants in the town in all price ranges, don't think we had a bad meal anywhere. There is not much in the way of beaches in Paphos, if you want a sandy beach best to go to Coral bay. There is a Debenhams and Next in the town for those feeling homesick.

We stayed in paphos but the accom was too far out. If you are going you really need a car and coral bay is a much better choice. Go to the ship for breakfast on the front its great value and friendly staff and Domitries in the Evenings real nice family restaurant.

Paphos in the winter months has lots of bars, restaurants, cultural attractions to keep visitors amused. There is o feel of it being closed until the summer as may be the case in other resorts. The weather was warm and most days sunny. The evenings / nights were also very mild with only the need for a light jumper / cardigan
