plenty to do in Paphos walk on the beach either way for around 3km.
Coral bay or (corriella bay bus terminus) are the best beaches or lighthouse beach is within walking distance from the hotel.
Evenings you can eat drink and be merry.
Use the local bus or hire car to see more of the island. Day trips are good value and the 4 x 4 jeep is a good day out. Northern Cyprus a bit of a let down.

We hired a car from down the strip, much cheaper than offered at the hotel, we went up into the Troodos mountains & there were swathes of wild orchids everywhere, also went on a coach to the capital Nicosia but wasn't impressed & only had a short time before the return trip. driving is easy as its on the left & petrol is probably the cheapest in Europe,
The Cyprus pound is worth more than the UK £ so beware if you think things look cheaper than back home. at the time we were there each Cypriot£ we spent cost us £1.21p sterling
Cyprus is high on our list for a return altho we might try up the other end next time

This was our 4th holiday to paphos (the first time was when we got married there). Go to Cyprus the first time and you fall in love with the island.

We visited Paphos 4th april-11th April for a easter break, not a great time to visit as most of the sites etc were closed for Easter holidays, but the bars on the bar street strip made us welcome.
California beach bar and Woodys both good bars for families became our local for the week. Tea for two was a good place to eat for proper British food near by coral beach as a great beach but the beach cafe is a bit expensive so beware!
Buses are cheap so if you don't hire a car don't worry in all Paphos and Hotel Mayfair was a good choice but go after Easter time.

The hotel was situated on the beach, with Chlorakus village 15 minute walk away and Paphos 15 minute bus ride. Animal and Bird Park is well worth a visit (kids loved it). Coral bay has a loveley natural beach area, Paphos market is good for bargains and local goods and the harbour area is worth a look with the Roman mosaics adjacent (entrance £2). All in all a very nice area, with plenty to see and do, if we return we would visit the moutain areas as a week was not long enough to take in alll the sites.

We only used Paphos for a little shopping, but it appeared to be fairly lively.

Paphos has some very interesting historical sites but is spoilt by many very "tacky" gift shops.
