These figures dont reflect what a lovely place Paphos is. I went in January so there wasnt much entertainment on and the beaches arent maintained in the winter but I visited Paphos in May 2006 and fell in love with the place that is why I returned in January to try to buy property in the area. There is something for everybody in Paphos - Young, old, Walkers, climbers, scuba divers, fishermen and fat lazy people like myself who just like the culture of the place and a cold pint of Keo.... Lovely place

Resort was clean loads of entertainment and places to eat. Beach OK one problem as with a lot of holidays.
Touts telling you they are not selling anything but will not leave you alone can spoil your holiday.

The resort was fairly quiet due to the time of year.
due to the chilly weather it was a good time to do a few of the trips, winery tour, jeep safari and mosaics, brilliant.
Lots of restaurants open near the harbour, pizza express, pizza hut, KFC, McDonald's and Starbucks for those that need the taste of home. The Cypriot restaurants superb. Prices similar to home. Yes there is building work going on but it didn't affect our holiday at all.
I loved Paphos and it would appeal to all ages.

Fifth time in Paphos so I guess we must like it, watch out for the free "scratch card" saying you have won a prize (everyone does!) but to collect it you have to attend a sales presentation for some property developer that can go on for ages!
Pelican and Theo's restaurants by the harbour worth a visit, Captains Table for the best views and great Fish Meze is one of the best in the tourist area.

Harbour area in Pathos was very nice and the old town excellent for a bit of shopping. Only draw back in the harbour area were the Timeshare Touts. As soon as you got off the bus they were at you. Tell them YOU NO UNDERSTAND, they soon retreat. Also went to Nicosia the capital, well worth a visit.

not much to report as we did stay in hotel due to the winter climate but the cleanliness was spot on and all local were so friendly. cheap too for beer and the food mostly was not of blackpool egg and chips yuk!! thank goodness a refreshing change, local meze etc. we did not visit the beach at coral bay but have been told it's lovely. the entertainment was nil for us due to winter but the touts provided a laugh and were not pushy at all once they realised you were not a muppet. well apart from a wee scouse weirdo that seemed to have short memory brain cells the rest were so funny but maybe it will be different in summer.

We returned to beautiful Paphos after 9 years for a week XMAS 2006 to find a few changes around the harbour. All improvements. The famous Mosaics were more accessible and much more excavation had been done.Look out for the beautiful pink pelicans on the waters edge opposite the Pelican restaurant. It was surprisingly busy for December but we avoided the time share touts we'd been warned of.We visited the Paphos Bird and Wildlife Park catching a free bus from outside the hotel and had a very enjoyable day there with friends we met in the hotel. We also took a trip up to Northern Cyprus which was well worth the visit.Apart fom them wanting 1 Cyprus pound (about£1.20)to go to the Public Gents- needless to say Graham crossed his legs !!!! We booked through the Rep to be on the safe side but there were many cheaper offers available. The border has been open about 3 years but we still needed to take our passports. There are many good excursions and boat trips on offer which we had already done on our last trip. We love Paphos hope you do too.

the area we stayed in was clean and between coral bay and paphos which was great, a short bus ride either way was great you see more from the bus than a car or taxi.
there is a village 10min walk from the hotel fantastic with all the local culture you could want.
we walked to a tavern that had multi screen for the football be aware of the prices beer ranging from £1.65 for carlsberg and £2.45 carling that was rank. check your prices first. apart from that the entertainment was either in the hotel, coral bay or paphos.
Coral bay has a nice cove and yes we did go in for a did until it became overcast.
yes i would go again
hope you found this useful
