The Venus Beach is the first hotel past the Tombs of the Kings, it is not too far out of the harbour area but is a good walk. The only problem we found was that the pavements are vitually not existant and where there are some they are very un-even. The local bus service is very good costing 80cno matter how far you go, and taxi's were not much more expensive (but there were 4 of us sharing)

Kato Paphos and Paphos town are both delightful places and always worth a visit. Beware of dodgy videos and CD"s on the sea front. One we bought is impossible to view even though it looks perfectly genuine.

We enjoyed the various activities, visit the crocodile bar for a superb pizza.
If you like a home cooked meal go to Leo and Jo next to the Irish bar, all the food is made by Jo herself, and is superb and very reasonable in price.

Pahos is great, it has something for everyone. Its got a street called "Bar Street" which is great for party animals. Its got "tomb of the kings road" with loads of nice bars and restaurants. It's got the harbour which is a bit classier. We tried all areas and loved it. Our ages are from 26 to 34 and we all like nice meals and nice bars, bar street I can imagine would be a bit roudy for us in summer but the bars around tomb of the kings would be ideal. There is loads to see and do. Places of interest such as Tomb of the Kings, House of Dyonisis by the Harbour lots for culture vultures. Lots of very nice restaurants too many to mention. Markets and the old town are well worth a visit. We hired a car locally (not with the rip off reps!, we bartered them down and got a good price with full insurance and two named drivers, we went all over. Golf courses were great and 3 good ones to choose from. I would definitely go again!

Pafos was very clean and pretty, the harbour area is worth a visit. There did not appear to be any resort entertainment just lost of different places to eat and drink.
You had to go to Coral bay for a reasonable beach which was very small and that is about 1.5 hours from Pafos by coach , less by car. Some hotels had pretty beaches for guests carved out and manufactured but non the less looked good mostly the beach is quite rocky and craggy around the Venus. Our first visit to Pafos was spoilt by the Hotel.

Pafos has a lovely harbour area with plenty of shops and places to eat and is kept very clean, there is also bar street for those who wish to have a party night.
The only down side to this area are the half a dozon or so brits who hang around the harbour trying to scam you with scratch cards(which you always win on so don't fall for it)and you will know who they are because their first line is usually "are you british or where are you from".
Coral bay has a very nice clean beach and further on there is also corola bay.We found November a good time to visit the sights as its quiet at this time of year and you dont have to queue anywhere for anything and sights like aphrodites birthplace & baths are nicer when your the only ones there.
The weather is wonderful most of the year in Cyprus with only small amounts of rainfall in the winter on the coast. All in all you should atleast visit Cyprus once if only to meet the lovely Cypriot people...

Paphos is a small resort, it is quite quiet, at least it is in November. There is a bar street which we were told heaves with life in season. The harbour is nice with a very small castle at the end of the road, not much to see but only 75c to get in.
Watch out for the time share touts at the bus stop at the harbour, in the end we got fed up and were pointedly rude to them, they quickly got the message. Apparently the Cypriot authorities are having a crackdown on them so hopefull it will get better.
The Archeology in the area is breathtaking, just by the harbour is a large, I mean very large fenced off area with the most marvelous mosaics I have ever seen. well worth the pound or so to get in, but if youre feeling tight its free on a Sunday. Just up the road is the Tombs of the Kings, at 75c another must do and fascinating. Practically every street has a hole with steps leading down to a catacomb so have a walk and look around the side streets.
Everyone was very friendly, whilst there I can recommend getting some new spectacles, a free eye test and 24 hour delivery at less than half uk prices make this a must.
For cheap food it is best to drive 15 or 20 minutes outside the resort to a small village, a good meal with as much as you can drink for under a tenner can't be bad.
Beaches a a bit sparse but can be found, best to hire a car.
A trip to the Troodos mountains is a must but be aware that although the main roads are OK the side roads are just tracks with no barriers and vertical drops that make your hair curl. I would recommend a 4x4 especially if you want to drive up the Akamas penninsular which is a massive nature reserve and the breeding ground of Loggerhead Turtles. Whilst there walk the Akvatar(sic) gorge, good walking shoes a must but spectacular, and cool in the shade.
