Didn't like Paphos too much...Won't be going back...Had heard such a lot about it but was disapointed...Grubby and tired looking, a poor beach and pricey too. We're sticking with the Canarys. Adios.

Paphos, from what I saw was very clean.
Good entertainment.
The best place to go for a beach is Coral Bay, wow!!
Even in November it was lovely and warm and fantastic sand.

If you are staying near the Aloe hotel I would recommend the Yemen snack bar for snacks and drinks at a fraction of what the hotels charge, and really friendly service you are treated like a local from your first visit.
A really good restaurant is the Napoleon The Meze is among the best we have ever had all 25 courses helped along with some local wine. With change from £30 what more could you ask for?
And also if you are hiring a car wait till you get there and haggle like mad you should be able to get a good car for around £10 CY per day.

Location on the strip away from Paqphos was just right, thelocal bus service is excellent.
The beach was adequate but spoilt by those jet ski's and the resulting noise and exhaust fumes.
Local entertainment was restricted to the sister hotel next door or a local bar - we opted for the local bar every time.
We all liked the resort and would definately consider another visit.

I was a bit disapointed with Phapos not enough going on for us really. Coral Bay beach was nice and i found the sun beds pretty cheap. I would go to phapos again but only for a day visit and maybe stay somewhere else. Beware of people approaching you with a credit card size scratch card ,Its time share and they are abit of a pest and often they are British. The bird park is worth a visit and the Tomb of the Kings is cheap enough to visit.

I have been to Paphos three times now since 2002 and this time I was dismayed by the way the resort is gradually reducing to a litter and rubble-strewn building site. There are literally hundreds of blocks of flats and villas being built, and the hotels are now separated by large areas which have been cleared and then just left - often with discarded litter, building rubble and tools left behind. In our hotel for example, down by the beach, I found a piece of garden on which had been dumped beer bottles, an old gas cylinder, a lump of tarmac and some old wood with nails embedded. It had simply been put there and left. I don't understand it!

Stayed at Kato Paphos. This is a little area of Paphos more southerly. Plenty of bars and shops to entertain.
The harbour area was lovely, though busy as you would expect.
Ventured into Paphos town one day, found Next, M&S, Mothercare. I know we're supposed to go for the culture, but if you forget something its useful to know they are there!
Buses run from kato paphos up to coral bay area. Cost 70c per journey which isnt too bad!
And of course, car hire firms... loads of them offering you the chance to venture further afield if you wish!

The beach in front of Kefalos hotel was shingle but very clean, we went intol paphos a number of times and was impressed by the cleanliness etc.
We have stayed in Protaras on other occasions, but will definitely come again to Paphos - excellent choice.

Paphos I would say is a very beautiful town. The harbour area is lovely and there are a lot of interesting places to see on foot.
Even my 7 year old enjoyed exploring the various ancient sites - especially Tombs of The Kings (we plan to take a torch next year so as he can go into some more of the darker caves!)
The aquarium is OK for a short visit - not too expensive, although probably wouldn't visit twice.
Watersports galore - my partner tried jet skiing and he also took my son out on a motorised pedalo at Coral Bay.
We also took an hour boat trip to see a wreck and the sponge beds - My son and Partner saw a 'real live turtle' swim under the boat!
Plenty of restaurants to choose from - we visited many, our favourites being - Trattoria La Vigna (Italian), which was fantastic, Les Amis, Manhatton, Mandarin, Viva Cyprus and Phivos (which was cheap and cheerful - if you can get the on the right side of the surly waiters!) - this was my sone favourtie maily due to the fact that the desserts came with sparklers!
The Tiger Boat looked interesting - we may try it next year, along with paracending, flying fish and many many other things.
We also hired a car and went further afield - didn't like Agia Napa. Coral Bay nice beach - but not for us for a 2 week holiday. Bird Park really good but really expensive. Adonis Baths - not a fun day out as it says on the posters - more like a nightmare journey off road and although picturesque not much to do once you have plunged into ice cold water!
