Most rooms have pool views.
Visit Taverna Odas in the old town and The House on the main strip is brilliant for any time of the day.

The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

The resort was jam packed with things to do from scuba diving to jet skiing, or if you just wanted to lounge and be lazy you could find a nice relaxing spot.
Shops were just a few steps away and catered for all your holiday needs.

The town of Stalis was excellent with a lively but not overpowering atmosphere.
The Tavernas offered delicious meals for reasonable prices & really friendly service. Our favourite was called Yanniswhere everything was home cooked & we got tips on how to make dishes at home.
We visited Heraklion by bus, (leave from bus stop number 25 on the same side as hotel) which only cost Eur 6.50 for 2 & Ag Nickolaos (bus stop on opposite side) als Eur 6 for 2
At Ag Nick, we got a boat to Spinalonga,(Eur12 each) a must now the book 'The Island' is so popular, but be prepared for the food & drink in Ag Nick to be much dearer.
But really I can see no reason why you should pay the tour prices, when bus travel is so reliable easy & cheap(and you can spend what you save on drink!!!)
Only 1 downside to the holiday, mosquitos, Normally I dont get bitten, and we have been to many countries including Thailand which is notorious for mossies, but I was bitten so much that I had to go to the doctors in my slippers when I got home as my feet swelled up so much (& before you say it I had repellant on)
All in all though a great value for money holiday & a bit of everything for all ages

Stayed in malia, this resort is aimed at the 18 30 age group who just want to drink and make a general nuisance of themselves.there is quad bikes all over the town and according to our rep there is one fatality a week in crete involving quad bikes, the noise and the smell is unbearable.Malia is also a very expensive resort with no entertainment outside of the night club scene.

The beach is about 20 minutes walk from the aprtment and it is very clean and sandy, there are 2 beaches one in Stalis and one in Malia, Stalis is the quiet one and Malia is a little bit busier

i loved malia. it was full of young and lively people. it was very expensive in the day but hey your on holiday, you dont want to be on a budget! The clubs and bars on the night time was brilliant and the drinks were so cheap. i am going back in september 2007 and i cant wait!

The resort we stayed in was great it was 10 minutes away from all the bars which was good because when you went back to your hotel you didnt have all the noise still. the resort was clean we neva went to the beach because we were always to hug over to do anything. i would recomend this to everybody.
