The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

Make sure you buy or have air conditioning when you go.
A lot of great places and bars to visit within 15mins walking distance. Gets very hot alot of people tend to hire quad bikes to get around.

Crete is great. Malia is full of bars and clubs but not as hectic and intimidating as I was dreading! Didn't see any trouble and everyone in good spirits.
Drinks cheap but take it easy, they ply you with alcohol like it's big and clever but it's too easy to get too drunk too early!.
Malia old town has some gorgeous resturants.
Stalis is nice, just a long row of bars and restaurants with some nice sea views, alot calmer than Malia..

The resort was great so much to do and drink and the people out there are so friendly. The nightlife was wicked and the drinks are so cheap!!!!!!!!!!!

im planning another trip to malia in a few weeks! met some amazin people out there and the greeks cant get anymore friendly, if your about to visit malia i would recommend....bars/clubs: help, banana, malibu, zoo, bar 1, factory, sugar, venue and 69
if you are headin to the beach there is only one place that i would go to....pleasure beach! with the awesome staff and great dj's playin all sorts of music, its where all the workers go....enough said!

Malia proved itself once again!
07' a bit quieter than 06' but overall an amazing place to spend my two weeks holiday!

The resort of malia is brilliant. The night life is amazin, an the position of the diasselo apartments is great 2 be far from the lively atmosphere when ur hung over but close enough 4 a good nite out xxxx

Malia was great, theres lots of shops, bars and resturants and everyone seems to be friendly.
The scooters and quad bikes are slighly annoying at times but you get used to it.
The Happy Train tour was excellent but if you are going to go on it then I suggest you take a cardigan as it gets cold up the mountains.
I would definatly book another holiday in Malia or just outside.

Found Malia to be a bit too brash. wouldn;t like to go in high season

Too much choice and not enough time to visit everything as we only stayed for 1 week. Malia is a lovely place to stay and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday with entertainment thrown in if you want it.
Had one incident with the chinese/indian down the bottom end of town by the Mini Golf/Molly Mallones - don't go there!! Everywhere else was fab and really friendly.

This is obviously a resrt for the young, although my wife and I did not fall into that catagory, we fully enjoyed the excellent restuarants to be found here. I believe that in 2008 strict new laws are being brought in regarding noisy disruptive behaviour, as per Falaraki, lets hope so.
