Most rooms have pool views.
Visit Taverna Odas in the old town and The House on the main strip is brilliant for any time of the day.

The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

Make sure you buy or have air conditioning when you go.
A lot of great places and bars to visit within 15mins walking distance. Gets very hot alot of people tend to hire quad bikes to get around.

I would definately go back to Malia again, in fact i'm going back to work there for the summer next year. It was such a good night out and you can get really good drinks deals! There isn't really any big clubs there, just a lot of good smaller ones. I recommend Banana's, malibu and The venue! Most of the bars there are really good and the bar staff are always friendly. The PR's are a laugh aswell and some of them literally pick you up and carry you to the bar. The staff from 4play are cool aswell! If you go there ask for the funnel, a few of those and you'll be on your back. If you get the chance to go on the skool disco do it!! It will make your holiday!

the resort is cleaned everymorning, if you ever walk down at 9 you will see about 12 cleaners sweeping up glass and what ever else.
the night clubs are fit they always fill up at around 11/12 ish, and they have good dj's. flairs is good to go in first for your cheesy music, venue is good for a bit of a break from R&B, i wouldn't call it indie really though, and kyotes is mint. the scotish bar has a really good feel to it also!
Going back next year!!! whoop whoop

there are some good bars were you can eat and drink any time of the day or night, with a lovely view of the sea and beach, it is hard to tell people how good it realy is, unless you see it for you self you will never know the magic of it all.

I didnt like this resort at all. The beach was dirty as were the streets. You got harrassed when you walked down the main road by people trying to get you to go into the bars and clubs.
At night all you could hear was thumping music until about 5am and everywhere you turned were drunk Brits making you ashamed to be British. If you actually enjoy 18-30 type of holidays then you'd most probably like this resort.
If you're looking for somewhere to relax and have nice evenings that dont involve getting plastered then this isnt the place for you.
I went with my boyfriend who likes these kind of places and I have to say I wasn't very happy with his choice at all.
I don't mind going to a bar but not ones in these types of resorts where you cant hear yourself think, never mind have a conversation.
Saying that though, everyone in these places are so drunk they probably wouldnt even be able to string a sentence together.
Horrible horrible place and I would never go back there again.

Malia was amazing loads to do even in low season except when it rained but that was only once so it was fine.
All the clubs wernt open but the bars and small clubs that were were very good and I can't wait to come back again.

Everywhere we went there were plastic water bottles dumped and other litter.
Still lots of bars open on beach road but we got really fed up with getting accosted by PR's trying to get us in. it got so bad we stopped going down Beach Rd which was a shame as there were some good bars further down.
We just got the bus into Hersonissis or went along the main Rd at the top.
The Beach was Ok except there was a lot of rotting seaweed which ponged a bit.

Malia is very lively, lots of clubs, pubs, amusements etc.If we had not hired a car and got out of the resort we would have had totally the wrong impression of Crete. The strip in Malia is fraught with dangers for the unsuspecting with idiots on quad bikes, broken glass and vomit at times we felt ashamed to be British. On a lighter note there are some good Tavernas in the old part of Malia where the food is delicious and the service excellent, also just next to Malia port a restaurant called Eve's that has an almost fanatical following once you have eaten here you really don't want to eat anywhere else as the food is probably the best that we found, all home made and Yianis the waiter was so good he makes the whole meal a pleasant and unforgettable experience. So as far as we were concerned the main strip was best avoided at night we did spend some pleasant evenings with friends in a bar just off the strip. We would visit Crete again but found that there were much nicer places to stay than Malia
