The actual resort was stunning and had a lovely relaxed feel to it. There were plenty of things to do and see - good restaurants, shops and a fantastic beach.

The resort we stayed in was Calangute. I ca only say that this is pretty much un-changed. It has always been dirty and busy yet some how still remains an attraction! As for the beach, if you enjoy sharing a sun bed with strangers (you are all packed in that closely on the local beaches that this is what it feels like)this is definately the resort for you!

Noisy, filthy, stinking. The pollution is appalling.

Calangute has all the bustle and richness of life that you would expect in India. The main centre is very busy and noisy but is also a cultural extravaganza. It stretches extensively so there are many areas that are quieter and secluded, just like this haven. Plenty of bars and restaurants with good food at very cheap prices. There are also a small number of nightclubs within easy distance by taxi.
Travelling further afield you will see some spectacular countyside and gorgeous bays/beaches.
Calangute and its close neighbours Candolim, Fort Aguada and Baga (in fact, Goa in general)are not your standard package deal with children's reps etc. This is more like an unspoilt arena where the culture and people are the best feature and that's without the bonus of the untouched, spectacular beaches.

Calangute is very noisy and busy with loads of good places to eat and too many shops to get through! The beach itself is favoured more by Indian tourists but a couple of minutes walk further down takes you to the quieter stretch of beach in Candolim.
Goa is a fabulous place where everything is available, nothings too much trouble, the weather is beautiful, and the beach is white sand.
So cheap, the most expensive meal for 4 with excessive drinking (inc tequilla shots) came to £35.00 ! Came back about a stone heavier, and could have brought another suitcase back full of bits and bobs! Travel light you can get your stuff washed at about 15p an item.
Beach towels came back clean and fluffy. I hope that I will never have to miss a year of visiting Goa, just wish I could give up the rat race and chill over there for 6 months. Thats the dream, but for now have a good holiday in fantastic Goa. xxx

We went to the beach nearly everyday and had so much fun. We went in the sea as it was lovely and warm, jumped the waves and hired boogie boards. (just beware some of the waves were huge). The Love Shack was very good and played good music that everyone knew and Russels cafe was OK. There was lots of people selling stuff on the beach but you just had to be nice to them.

We visit Goa usually twice a year, and have done for the last 10 years.
We always stay in and around Calangute, go to Lucky Star beach shack at the end of Tito's Road Peter and his GREAT staff will look after you, they will always remember your name.
Every time we go to Goa, we see the same faces, year after year, which says everthing.
Cant wait to be sat at Lucky Star watching the sunset again
