Goa is a bit dirty, but you'll get used to it after a couple of days.
Beaches is very good, but not friendly to children because of the big waves. Weather is very hot i april.
Prices are very low in Goa.

We cant comment too much on the resort as we were there the end of season so a lot of stalls and shops had closed up .
We did notice that a lot of places were closing at 10.30 in the evening which is really early normally open till last person leaves 3 or 4 in morning, but it was nice to be able to walk down baga road without having to dodge the cars and people.
If you like the beach and resort quiet this is a nice time to go. it was very hot though 38 degrees at 10.00 in the morning and in the 40's in the afternoon and still very hot at night.

Resort, in one word fantastic. So much to do. We went to see the crocs, the dolphins, we spent two days and one night sleeping on the beach in huts on stilts which was brilliant.
Went to the waterfalls in the jungle fed wild monkeys, washed the elephants in the river.
I'ts best to catch taxis and cheaper to do the things we have done.
All the fake goods you can buy in Goa, are of a high standard and the tailors are the best for suits and any thing else you want made.
We did so much and we have never been on more relaxing holiday, can't wait to go back again.

The resort of Calangute is mainly little restaurants and bars, all of which are very welcoming.
A lovely resort for a steady away holiday. Great for couples who want to have a little space. Everything is laid back apart from the roads which are pretty hectic, but after a day or so it becomes the norm.

We visit Baga/Calangute every year and absolutely love it. to the first time visiter there is an inevitable element of culture shock, but hang in for the first day and i guarantee you'll fall in love with the place. the people are fantastic. you have to remember that Goa is in a developing country, so some of the things we take for granted are luxuries here, but if you speak to the people and learn about their culture, you will appreciate it for what it is, a trully wonderfull place with great people.
the beaches are great. the shacks prepare some of the best food you'll ever have. In Baga visit bobby's shack at the end of the csm road (colonia santa maria), shooters bar, le restaurant francais, Karmasutras and el pescador. we also hear that villa portuguesa is fantastic. if you need great coffee and great pastries of a morning then try Infantaria at the Calangute end of the Baga road.
if the vendors on the beach become too much for you then head through baga away from calangute and over the footbridge to a couple of quieter shacks where you don't get pestered.

The resort wasn't that clean in itself - partly because of the red dusty soil everywhere - but the shops, pubs and places to eat were spotless.
Beaches were absolutely great, very clean and the warmest sea I've ever been in!
The shacks are the best espacially Dommart whose visitors go back year after year, we met people there from 2 years ago. Clara and staff - really look after you. Hi to Hilda who really took care of us!

Like most parts of Goa the place could do with an army of road sweeping machines to clear the plastic that litters the place.
Plenty going on in Calangute for all tastes with the bonus of being in between two other resorts.
I am not a lover of Calangute beach packed with sun loungers and not very safe swimming so only visited the place once. parts of Calangute are crazy but we would stay here again if we needed to.
